I saw a couple of the match points at lunch. Really nothing JWT would have been able to do with them. Woulda been more interesting had at least one of them gone down, but oh well. He had a chance on MP #3. That was the only one which did not end on a Nole winner. However, he chose to go for a down-the-line forehand and missed. It wasn't a gimme shot by any means and sometimes that's what happens. This is amazing: Stosur has NEVER lost a Grand Slam match when she has won the first set. Apparently today was Errani's very first top ten scalp. I would not have guessed it. It feels like she should have a few wins over Jankovic and Bepa.

Hey hey, short-term memories! SEWTA had a player who was fearless and went for the lines when down and mostly made them. Then she got stabbed and SEWTA died and went to hell. A coincidence they're from the same country and he grew up idolising her.

She almost had a win over Jankovic once, at IW '10 I believe. Oh, I see there's been another "She plays like a man!!!!1" scandal today. So weird to remember the days when AMELIE was the player people feared would bulldoze SEWTA with her power. And now she's a byword for forgotten finesse. Errani also took Davenport to a 7-5 third set at the AO, I believe, though that was in Davenport's post-baby career.
