And now I have to hate Kanepi. 35 minutes for the set, Kaia? Go home.

Can we cancel this tournament NOW before things go too far. It's too late.

Why don't WE have these jobs?! Seriously. I'm already looking forward to the Olympics and commentators who cover sports they're watching for the first time. I'll never forget the gymnastics coverage on Eurosport in 2008: "And this is gymnast XY from China" followed by complete silence during the rutine* and until the score comes up. "And the score is 15.650" * unless they fall And someone got paid for that! It doesn't get much worse than that, does it? Makes it seem like we're almost spoiled with our tennis commentators, by comparison.

6-3 Shvedova
I was so mad at Petra for hitting out, and long, and wide, but now I just shrug. I get that it's her game, but no, you can try and hit more inside the court to give yourself a margin for error.

Maria broken on a DF. A dribble of hope.

Maria broken on a DF. A dribble of hope. No, just no. It's Kanepi. She chokes even when she leads 6-1 5-1. At this point Shvedova will be a tougher opponent for Maria anyway.

Maria gets the break back! OMG WHAT A SHOCKER! Haha. I only typed it like that because Kanepi was up 40-15. Kanepi mentally checked out of this match a couple of games back - Maria's all over her.

What an utterly pathetic display from Kanepi. How do you show up to a Slam QF with so little fight or enthusiasm.

Maria through 6-2, 6-3 in 1h14min. Now Kvitty needs to hold up her end of the deal.

Kvitova breaks and this looks NID now. I feel like I need to quote you right now when it's 0-40 on Petra's serve. It's Petra, she falls apart for no reason. Shvedova breaks back.

Kvitty should hope for rain.
I remember hoping for rain during the entire Justine's match against Kapros, and it looked like it was going to rain 168989 times, but it never did.
