Falconi on a fancier court than Serena. Brinyi will be so torn now: Lucic has been **WEARING GLASSES** in her matches. Will lunettes-love or Lucic-hate rule the day for Brinyi? Or will his head just explode? That's an easy one. Goooooooooooooooo Panova!

But still his last Grand Slam win was in 2005 before last month, so any is huge.

Davydenko, ha! Bogomolov as a Russian must have a pathetic record this year. Checking: Counting Dusseldorf and DC, 9 W-21 L.

Bloody hell, I knew this would happen, they cut women's matches as soon as a "marquee" men's match comes up. Damn you, Hobag. Die, men's singles.

So predictable, I had already formulated my response in advance which follows: In those similar situations, I'm certain similar accolades were given to those players, irrespective of nationality, and particularly at this website. One example off the top of my head would probably be Lucic.

And Zimonjic needs to lose ASAP before they start imposing DNOC on us.

Thanks! Now I realize that simply clicking on "A." would have revealed the mystery. But it was too hard!

Damn you Eurosport. There's Wimbledon going on and you're showing some pub game watched by 17 people. Wimbledon won't sell them the rights, cause ES is French All of us must suffer for that That's why Wimbledon is always the least important slam for me. How can a tourny be prestigious when it's not broadcasted anywhere in my country? (Also the reason why barely anyone watched your match yesterday in Latvia, Ernie!)

The likes of MJMS, Pous Tio, Birnerova and so on crept back into Slams pretty much unnoticed. Even Li received virtually no media hype at the start of her comeback.

How can a tourny be prestigious when it's not broadcasted anywhere in my country? I never saw a point of Wimbledon '02 because it wasn't broadcast on any channel on my cable. Now, I can watch it on 3 (sometimes 4) channels. Thanks to you-know-who.

There is always hype for WCs for players who don't deserve it, from every nation by their nations. And in Baker's case, he didn't get any that he didn't deserve (considering the WC exchange parameters which have been in place for a long time), so I don't see what the problem is. The point is we notice these things here, and I don't see how this situation is at all different from the other ones you mentioned, so "but still" it's...exactly the type of thing we talk about here! Is there an Anglophile hegemony in sports/media/sports media? YES. Does that favor Americans? YES. Doesn't change the fact that this is rare and that there's no reason for me (and it's probably only me here) not to bring it up as something noteworthy.

So they showed Gulbis vs Nadal 2nd round, and they actually showed THAT Federer/Nadal final live. That's why I'd appreciate if Gulbis actually took tennis seriously

Konta/McHale at 8-8 in the third. Konta netted a putaway that would have given her two MPs in the last game. Funny how McHale, so effective against Woz last week, just looks innocuous and harmless against Konta.
