5-5 final set. This is where we go through a repeat of the '09 SF against Demented. Which is why I haven't been watching.

Serena's now winning the title without dropping a set isn't she?

Whatever. I'd still rather have her over Maria.

So weird, this new Serena. I shall root for her against Ma$ha though.

I'd be most pleased with a Lucic OMGWTFBBQ win.

Yeah if she's going to piss me off like this she may as well make up for it with a beatdown of Ma$ha.

Whatever. I'd still rather have her over Maria. +1 I do have a feeling she might now win the title, though. Yeah. Today's match wasn't an indication that Silliams is playing badly, it was an expected tough match against an opponent who always gives her hell. And her serve was at 2009 levels. Golden Shvedova might give her a scare but if she gets past that all the "top" players should be a doddle for her tbh. Who's she going to lose to, Ma$ha or Aga?

Why is Goffin losing this match? Go away, Mardy Fish Used To Be Fat.

Oh, I don't mind. I like Lucic and am happy she put together some wins in Q & here, but it's not like I'm silly enough to have any expectations for her. Also, I like Roby.

I think the second set was crucial here. If Andy had won that, he probably would have won the match. But when he didn't, I expected Dave to grind it out. That's what's happened so far.
Paszek eked past Wickmayer today, a nice result.
Paszek's sudden return to form has been welcome but also really weird. Her 2012 was HORRIBLE going into Eastbourne. She was 2-13. It wasn't all made possible by the surface change, either. She lost in Nottingham to Riske and at Birmingham to Keothavong. In neither of those matches did she win a set.
Then she went out and won five matches over five top 50 players, including 2 members of the top ten, at Yeastbourne. Now she's in with a chance at another Wimbledon QF against Azarenka. I think she can beat Vinci, though it's close to 50-50.
So Serena was never broken in that entire match? That's pretty impressive, really. I do see the 23 aces against 1 DF. Pretty tough when she's also serving at 67%. I wonder how many service winners she also chalked up.
For such a close match, this was the overall point spread: Serena 112 - Zheng 91. Usually differentials like that indicate a much less close match.
I see Shvedova just became the answer to a trivia question. Hey, maybe she'll surprise us and beat Serena. I know Williams has the serve working but she still seems pretty vulnerable to me.

Max Mirnyi could write a book with inside stories on the women he's played Mixed with: most famously, Serena and Azza (won Slam titles with those two) , and Porni (no titles -- of course! But one Slam final and lots of clicking cameras). And who knows who all else he played with less famously. Interesting that he faced both of the dueling Indians in Mixed finals, beating Bhupathi and Lucic (!) with Serena at Wimbledon in 1998, and Paes and Shaughnessy at the US Open in 2007. So he could throw in a few chapters about those guys, too, and sell a lot of books in India.

Murray is playing so bad. Standing metres behind the baseline won't win you the tournament.

He's right. I mean, it was always gonna be enough for the most useless player (Baghdatis) but that doesn't mean much.
