It's interesting how Baghdatis was pretty good pretty early on and now ... he is cannonfodder for the big names. I don't have higher expectations for him playing a top seed than I do Lacko or RRH or someone like that.

Maybe Cilic and Querrey will finally wrap it up now. I think Marin served for it at 6-5.
How many times did Querrey reach 30-all on Cilic's serve, too?
At least this match hasn't been all about serving - it is better than the usual Isner marathon.

And it looks like Sam will recover and extend this match.
I think Ferrer-Del Potro will be an interesting match. JMDP should win that with his firepower on this surface but ... I don't know that he will. Ferrer in a Wimbledon QF would be hilarious!

Hmm they will have to close the roof pretty soon on Centre. But then they might still not finish it until 11 pm. Unless Murray wins his set, which he probably will.

Cilic through.
The praise Murray got in some of the British papers like The Guardian for his 1r win against fucking Davydenko was ridiculous. Now it's obvious that nothing has changed or rather he's getting worse.

Got back in time for the end of the 3rd, wtf did Baghdatis think he was doing in the last set? any non-brainless opponent in that position would know to slow the game down, take maximum time b/w points, keep the ball in court and extend the rallies, and yet Baghdatis was just playing the fall guy and hitting basic errors to help Murray on his way? Idiot.
As for Murray he should maybe play all his matches with curfew pressure.

When has Bagh ever had a brain? I can't stand stupid 'showmen' like him.

Well, that was fun. Night matches = awesome. The whole stopping play to put the roof on at 9pm, starting again like 40 minutes later is just.. retarded beyond belief. But there you go. ALSO, they started play at like 1.30pm... wtf? It suited us at the time though. I'm a bit hungover/dazed today so my report will be brief: - got into the grounds, dumped our bags and went to watch the first two sets of TITS against Witch. Kinda lame match with the momentum switching between every fucking service game. No one seemed to get any rhythm. Was THRILLED when the third set score came up. ;D - had a lovely lunch and was well on my way to Drunk at this point. Joined the Reenus Jay-Z match for the last few games of the first set and the TB. I was kind of bored during this match. Yes it went on for a long time but rallies seemed few and far between, and the crowd couldn't really give a shit until the last couple of games. You knew as soon as Serena strung a few decent points in a row together, it would be all over. Jay-Z's serve is obv a massive liability. However as I was queuing to get back in after a toilet break during the third, some stat came up on the outside TV that Reenus hadn't returned like 32 of Jay Z's serves?! Sheesh. - left immediately for some more booze and afternoon tea after the match as we had no intention of seeing Roddick. The queue to Court 3 to see Goffin was huge. Nothing else around the grounds really interested us so we went to watch a set or so before retreating back to the bar. - by the time Murray walked on court, I was pretty intoxicated. The atmosphere was great as expected and my friend loved it. The match itself...Murray was SLOPPY for the second and third sets. The turning point was when he had two lucky net cords (the first one totally insane) in a row I think serving at 4-2 down. After that, he stopped making retarded errors and it was all over. Bag's brainfarting seems to have been discussed on this page already. Also, Muzza is a little bitch. We all knew this but seriously, some of his behaviour was very poor. He stalled Marcos several times over the first two sets... changing rackets, "injuring" his knee barely able to walk before sprinting around the court like a gazelle on the VERY NEXT POINT. He only started apologising for his insane net cords/stalling after he was in control of the match. THEN he had the audacity to bitch to the chair umpire during one of his service games about Marcos stalling when he was face down on the court. Disappointing. We also missed our dinner plans because this finished so late... but overall definitely worth the wait.

Thanks for the report! Jay-Z's serve is obv a massive liability. However as I was queuing to get back in after a toilet break during the third, some stat came up on the outside TV that Reenus hadn't returned like 32 of Jay Z's serves?! Sheesh. Yeah this was the weird thing about the match. Most people were like, oh, Zheng will be tough because she's such a great returner and takes it so early, but her serve will get killed. But in the event Zheng failed to break and only hit a few GOAT returns...but apart from the second set, Serena couldn't get on to her serve at all. That match was obviously exactly what Serena needed, I think she's a massive favourite for the title now. First tight Slam match of her comeback that she's won, and she never looked like she was going to melt down emotionally. This was the big test of the big question mark over her coming in, her composure, and she passed. She didn't win many rallies, but that's always been the case against Jie. And her serve was at 2010 levels.

I don't think Serena wins this. Shvedova will lay down two golden sets tomorrow.

I'd give Shvedova more of a shot than any of Serena's other potential opponents.
