I'm guessing Cavic isn't contesting this one?

Is Joana happy though? Well this year hasn't been at all like the previous one for Novak. He'll have his chance in 4 years still, probably. I did consider giving him a chance, this being the Olympics and all, but then as I was buying newspapers today I saw a huge headline on the front page that said "NOLE, (YOU'RE A) SERB, SERBIA IS WITH YOU", and I thought "No, thanks". But it's more than just Djokovic tonight, our swimmer Cavic, who was one of our biggest chances for medal, finished 4th. With one 4th place in shooting previously and very poor results in team sports, these Olympics are turning into a dud for us. And to think the head of the Olympic Committee claimed we could win up to 10 medals. Novak still might get a bronze! Imagine all the hype if he won gold after everyone else flopped. Do you have anyone in Athletics?

I've never actually heard him contest that one, he was actually trying the calm our media who were going hysterically about the worst injustice ever committed against the proud Serbian nation.

Dudas can't medal in Decathlon, can he?

Do you have anyone in Athletics? Yes, a few people, including a shot putter in the final right now, but they're not going to win a medal. We'll probably medal in water polo and there are a couple of chances in shooting still. What about Latvia? I guess there are a couple of good ones in athletics, like Vasilevski(s) and Radevica.

Radevica wins in some other category, but results-wise she's been struggling this year.
Track and Field stars finally, now I can truly enjoy these Olympics.!

Dudas can't medal in Decathlon, can he? Oooh, I'd love that, but it's extremely unlikely. Our new generation of athletes (excluding Spanovic) is so likeable, unlike the hideous cheaters/excuse makers of the past such as Topic and Peric.

I have no idea. The only athlete (apart from tennis and football) who I can recognize at those Olympics is Michael Phelps. (And Isinbayeva if she's still relevant) I didn't keep up at all those last years. But we usually do have a couple of people in Athletics, so hopefully something good happens.

Berkic could make the 400mH final, he medalled at the EC, too. What about Topic? I read she decided not to compete in London due to "bureaucracy" issues?

What about Topic? I read she decided not to compete in London due to "bureaucracy" issues? I meant her husband, actually, who is STILL competing at these Olympics at the age of 85. I'm looking forward to his 215 cm jump! She did go eventually, she competed and was promptly eliminated this morning. But worry not, they have their excuses lined up already, since his old time coach died last week.

LOL, I think it's far more likely that you meant Dragutin Topic.

I think most people in the USA prefer the first week these days. Might change once Debbie Phelps retires.

Is that short-track cycling??? I love the short-track cycling and speed skating (in Winter) because they're so random. It's like winning medals in dice. Yes! Short track everything are so great that I can't believe somebody actually allowed them to be sports! I opened two classes this week by showing them a video of Steven Bradbury winning a gold medal in short track. My favorite Olympic moment ever!

Look at you, incorporating current events into your classes! You are inspiring, like Michelle Pfeiffer in the Coolio song movie.

Isn't she flopping a bit? Be aware that I am watching yesterday's now, and have very little info about what happened today, so she might be rebounding.
Anyway, I am a hardcore Michael Phelps stan so I find him to be exposed perfectly, in many ways.

I hate all people who go by Missy, for reasons which are self explanatory.

Anyway, she seems so nice so I can't hate. Too bad she's named Missy. It's a name for a poodle. Almost as bad as Coco.

Another 15 year old babygirl won gold tonight, although I suspect no one will say this one is doped.

The worst part about people named Missy is that nobody is actually named Missy.

Missy Franklin and Allison Schmitt have the exact same face. It's like it's made out of rubber or plasticine and you can't actually imagine either of them not wearing a goofy smile. I went to see a Laurie Anderson show tonight. Stage time was 8pm and at 7.45pm pretty much the entire audience was in the bar watching Becky Adlington...kind of flop and get bronze And she was SO FAR off her personal best.

Missy Elliott is surely an exception to the Missy rule.

First thing in the morning and I tune in, first thing I see are triathlon scars and the first words I hear are "she's covered in blood..."
Such a hardcore sport.

I'm watching track and field. Yeah! 100m! Woo! Also, rowers - right? They're pretty great.
Regarding swimming - doesn't the fact that world records fall every 20 seconds in that sport make it a total nonevent when one does?

Oh, good: Justin Gatlin is still allowed to run. Lifetime bans need to be more of a thing.
