We have a finalist in taekwondo, so we'll have three medals at least, the same as in Beijing. The water polo teams also plays for bronze tomorrow.

Raw emotion as one of the USA runners fell at the end of the third lap (a few metres beyond the finishing line) - dunno what was wrong with her but she stayed on the track on her knees weeping for the rest of the race. Bit awkward when everyone else finished and she was still there She's one of the best runners over 1500 m in the world, but no medals at major competitions still - at WCh last year she was also tripped and fell, finishing way down. It really was sad to watch her reaction, she probably couldn't believe her bad luck again

If they had reached the final, they would have played against Croatia. This is one sport that really benefited from the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Drama in women's handball bronze play-off, unsurprisingly featuring South Korea! Koreans scored a goal literally a second too late. It would have given them the victory, but now the match has gone into overtime.

It's very physical. And Korea's lost it.

Hmm, bit of a let-down from Semenya, she finished so fast but had left it SO late - like she thought she had another 400m to play with. She had tons left in the tank at the end. Bit of a choke? Savinova played it superbly though, nice hug between them afterwards.

Maybe I'm being a bitch here, but if it happens TWICE at major championships in the last two years...it starts to look less like luck and more like time for a sports psychologist.

USian women surprisingly lost the volleyball final to Brazil. They were big favourites to win, Brazil had been crap for a whole year. They barely made it to the QF here, much thanks to USA - many people thought USA would tank their last group match against Turkey, since they had already secured 1st place in group, while the win for Turkey would have eliminated Brazil.

USian women surprisingly lost the volleyball final to Brazil. This is terrible to say, since this is my country, but: YAY!! Time for South Americans to start getting ready for Rio anyway.

Yay, finally a gold for us, for the first time since the volleyball team in Sydney - the taekwondo girl won her final. Too bad it's one of the most NOC sports, but hey, you take what you can. Also, the first gold for "independent" Serbia.

Over Suffering withdrawal symptoms already. Nicely appropriate that the final two medals were won by a Brit and a Brazilian!

You got to go! You're the first person I know who's been to an Olympics. That made this Olympics more fun for me.

I ended up barely watching any of these Olympics. Oh, well. I think NBC's constant coverage has soured me forever.

Relevant! I'm being unpatriotic but the Norsk curlers were eminently more watchable than our team.

I can't believe how little I've seen of these Olympics. TV coverage is abysmal now that Eurosport didn't get the broadcasting rights. Basically I've seen all of biathlon, thanks to livestreams and quite a bit of speed skating. And some alpine skiing and cross country that was on TV.
Apparently there's been scandals, rigging and DRAMA in figure skating tonight.
