I am surprised that everyone is so unfazed about Federer's loss. I mean, this is 100 times worse than losing against Simon and Karlovic. Because Blake doesn't win these matches, against anyone. Blake blows and chokes. Joana is right, this is the end for sure. Why are people expecting Federer to always win, all the time, every year? Federer's game is off at the moment, that's all. There is no reason to think he can't find his game again. If being in a slump means you're finished, then Graf would have retired in 94. No matter what happens, there is still Wimbledon. Federer could suck for the next years and still win 1 or 2 Wimbledon. He's not finished, and he's not retiring any time soon. I think Federer is different. But let's just say I would have the utmost respect for him if he comes back and wins some more Slams. Why do you quote my post with "well said", and then write things that are the opposite of what I wrote?

Tennis should be in the Olympics. For amateurs.

I thought he would roll over and die 148989 times by now, really.

And I know it's pathetically petty of me, but I'm so happy that Justine has one terrific thing that Serena will never get: an Olympic gold metal in singles. I suppose you could look at it that way too. But I'd trade it for what Serena has and Justine never will. And I don't mean big boobs.

2008: Dementieva: sucked I'm sure Safina: sucked I'm sure Zvonareva: 2R right in front of me on Court 274074207240247 Li: sucked I'm sure Because we're bored: 2004: Justine - 4R, horrible loss to Nadejda. Amelie - QF, chokes to Demented. Molik - 2R, Hanturexia with a rare good match. Myskina - 2R, horribler loss to Chak Vampiro - 2R, losing to The Sarge is never good. Fish - 2R. Who cares. He sucks. Gorila - 1R. Dent - 2R. Imagine a Fish-Dent Olympic final. OMGWTFBBQ. Sydney was post-USO. 1996: Lindsay Ann Leach: 4R, Wild Thing. Arantxa: 4R, Hingis. Novotna: QF, Hingis. Maria Jose: DNP. Agassi: SF, Destroyed by Chang. Bruguera: 3R, My Tommy I'm not looking up Paes and Meligeni, but I'll assume they did poorly. 1992: Capriati: 3R. Stefanie: QF, Arantxa. Arantxa: F Maria Jose: SF Rosset: 1R, revenge. Arrese: 1R. Goran: 3R. Cherkasov: 1R. Seoul was also post-US Open. The '84 Olympics were a demonstration sport and weak. Even though Stefanie won. So, yeah, the history isn't good.

I wouldn't assume that. If the Williams' are still playing any tennis, one is winning gold at Wimbledon in '12. Not as outlandish as it sounds. The way things are going, by 2012 Wimbledon will be played on velcro though. The Williams have recently stated that they shall be in London, in 2012. I expect one or both of them to quit the tour for a while before that, then return horribly fat and lose 18 matches in a row before dominating Wimbledon. Probably Venus, except for the fat part. I don't see her as fat. Ever.

Yes, I didn't see your post before I posted my post. I couldn't find anything truly humiliating by me. Well, except for this gem: I got to see it! Yay for DVR! I'm kind of thinking I don't want to go back to school. I have DVR and I would have much less debt. I have always been a wishy-washy asshole and always will be, I guess.

Demented and Safina both made the 08 USO SFs, albeit with pathetic draws. So, whatever.

Both lost fairly easily though. Safina lost 6-2, 6-3 to Silliams and JaJa took out Dementieva 6-3, 6-4 but Dementieva was always JaJa's bitch. I think.

I couldn't for the life of me remember the finalists after Rongrong's post. I assumed Serena, had settled on Venus.

Come on, now. Considering what a loser Blake was, this loss could only mean the end of Fed.
I think in those years our huge expectations of Fed went down. He's got an easier job now to meet them.
