That won't matter, though. Nole will be Maria and win due to red-blob delay.

True. I just want him to drag it out into a long match tomorrow so Nole is exhausted and Muzza has an unfair advantage, since he has no hope in hell when it's a level playing field. Also, I mentioned in one of the earlier US Open threads of how it'd be funny if Ferrer won the US Open so that prophecy must also be fulfilled.

It's interesting, though, to see how everything has lined right up for Murray here this year, as it did for Pova at RG this year, and for Federer a few times in Slams, including RG, of course: No Nadal, no Federer, an extra day off compared to what the other finalist will get ... the Lady Fortune is turning her wheel his way. --cf. I moved over since there was no one here when the match started and the live blog/twitter were happening simultaneously!
Also, I refuse to believe this is Muzza's time till he's hoisting a trophy over his head. This is Muzza. He's still unproven in a best of five GS final - either Ferrer or Nole will not be a walk in the park, exhausted or not. Muzza will ofcourse play his cute, slicey dicey crap and implode. This is the BEST OPPORTUNITY ever, yes. Everything is set up PERFECTLY, yes. I'm too afraid to celebrate in advance, though. There's always heartache around the corner.

No, a fan can never dare to celebrate in advance. It's just impossible. Only non-fans can ever dare to see the writing on the wall. I used to even worry when Henin played someone like Porni. "She might lose!!!1!!" Now I have no player, ATP or SEWTA, that I care about enough to worry about.

I didn't know it was official. Still, CBS is not going to give up Stupid Saturday easily. It's the only day of coverage that they really care about. That's partly why the Monday final keeps happening. This would be a lot simpler if the Open was moved back a week, with Labor Day available and no NFL.

I can't even read an article about it without seeing "stupid" Saturday.
Anyway, glad that it's going to die the horrible death it deserves. There is no reason that whatever network it is that carries this shit still can't benefit as much from a Friday evening sportscast than a Saturday - who the fuck watches tennis on Saturday that wouldn't watch Friday evening anyways?
Roar.
This is definitely Muzza's time. Gonna be funny if he magically mucks it up.
