New York crowd is wild about Andy. Who'd've thought?

He's a good player and fun to watch!
I'm really pleased for him. Of course this historic British moment happens at 2am here, and not televised on any channel most people have, lulz.

Congrats Mopey!
A little crazy how the draw-gods appeased him this fortnight.

LOL Ali.
I'm surprised how non-sad I am about this.

He's much less bad than Rusedski and Timbledon.

Now that we've gotten the necessary gifs out of the way, it's about BLOODY time! It's odd, but I started nodding off and fell asleep during most of the third, fourth and fifth sets. I woke up and saw Novak getting treatment and that annoying Luke Jensen say something about mind games because Murray was serving for the match and I was like WTF. Then I saw the scoreboard graphic and thought again WTF. Then Muzza served it out and reacted as though he'd frozen into shock - appropriate considering it's Muzza!

And, did Ali go to bed? If Andy does lose, I hope Ali does miss it. Aw thanks. I missed the bad parts! If Nole was playing better tonight I would not be so confident of the Ali-happiness outcome. This is true. Nole's poor play was a major contributor, in the first two sets (which I saw!) I'm really happy for Ali, but that doesn't mean I like this outcome. Thanks! It could've been worse. Everyone rolling their ankles and Roddick and Kim getting their farewell US Open titles (rather Serena and Anduh winning). How gross does that sound?

Also, BOTH Olympic gold medalists won the US Open this time. Neither reached the SF of a tournament in between.

Good that Anduh won, I was starting to think he wouldn't get his slam.

Watched it with some friends, most of us fell asleep at one point or another.
Congrats Andy! Nice match. Nole looked hot in those tight shorts.

Heh, I congratulated Ali but forgot all about the long-suffering British tennis fans until I was already in bed. I hope all Britain is celebrating today, and that the BBC will at least consider showing a match or two of NON-WIMBLEDON SLAMS in the future, now that they've got a real contender.
And yeah, Andy's game really is fun to watch. Maybe it's evil to say so, but I usually found Nadal-Nole battles to be danged boring. So I welcome this new era of tennis; thanks, Andy! (Still probably won't root for him often, though! ;D )

Great symmetrical end to the year. I was wondering what he was talking about when he started wildly gesticulating to his box after the match. Turns out he was looking for his watch, that his sponsors needed him to wear LOL.

Anyway, good for him for finally getting a slam. Given Roj's impending slide and Rafa's gimpiness, he should get a few more.

It's not like the Woz or anything; he was making way too many Slam finals. It had to happen eventually. We were all in Stage 5, Acceptance.

It's also not like Woz in that he is actually good at tennis. Also: Joy Lo Dico @joy_lo_dico Andy Murray and entourage went partying at Hakkasan NY last night. Total bar bill $6,500. Murray's share - one lemon soda for $6.
