Heartbroken with the Azza result. But that was made up for by Queen Masha's FIGHTIGNG$!@#!@~ comeback win.

I can't decide if I want Azza to win or Serena to murder her. Also, sucks that Kerber went 0-3.

I hope she's not still doing this in 2022.

Azarenka-Serena is even worse than Azarenka-Sharapova. Atleast Maria can score a win on clay.

Errani Not going 0-3 Scoring bagels in the YEC Despite yesterday, I don't think the Azarenka/Serena match-up is NID (off grass). Azza was always going to lose that after her epic match the day before - all those DFs, she was visibly lacklustre even against an erratic Serena. But I think their Australia matches and the USO final show that on a slow hard court, it's not going to be the kind of beatdown Serena hands out to Ma$ha.

11-1 speaks volumes, though. Does it really? Given that Azarenka can only be said to have been at (the start of) her peak for one year, and the only times she's been totally outclassed are on surfaces that emphasise the serve? Did Venus's 7-1 over Justine mean anything, really? IIRC Davenport initially had similarly commanding H2Hs over Venus and Justine, too. I'm not saying Azarenka is better, or even on a level with Serena. I'm just saying on slow hard courts, the match is much more of a toss-up than people think. Azarenka is getting closer. Stosur won five points in the first set against Ma$ha. I hope that's the last time we see her anywhere near the YEC. Errani proving everyone's expectations wrong again

Errani proving everyone's expectations wrong again I don't think Lindsay was ever quite that many matches up on Justine or Venus. I would love to believe you that Azarenka is getting closer. But I'm not so sure. The US Open match was close, yes. But one of their matches was bound to be, right? What is the score this season? 5-0 to Serena and 10-1 in sets? Yes, Azarenka has been in her prime only for a short while. But Serena has almost 50% of her wins against her this year! I have a bad feeling about Australia, incidentally. Azza has the pressure of defending and I don't think she will.

Three of Serena's wins were on serve-emphasising surfaces. Azza is never going to have a chance there.
That's a bad feeling about Australia? I'd love to have that feeling. Azza can fuck off. You'd really prefer this asshole to Serena?

Well, yeah. What I actually prefer is a non-Serena #1 who wins Slams. That's been really hard to come by since Justine retired.
I don't love Azarenka's personality either. But ... I actually do prefer her to Serena or Maria.

Serena destroyed Radwanska to nobody's surprise.
Sharapova has shocked us all by holding serve to win the first set 6-4. Repeat of the US Open semifinals, I assume.

Masha wins 6-4, 6-2. The surprising bit for me was Maria managing to hold serve in a crucial game (5-4), moreso than her winning overall. It's all irrelevant though - Serena will win the final 6-0, 6-0. Most lopsided since Kim d. Momo 6-2, 6-0 in 2003 (or something like that anyway!)

Azarenka said her body was feeling the four straight days of play. Saw Radwanska this morning and they both just laughed.
Sharapova on fitness: "Look we're all tired at this point. Some people just show it more than others." She is not letting it go.
