In her defense, poor Kerber's playing hurt.
She grew on me last year, too, but I just like the other girl's game better.

I do think Makarova will have a better chance against Masha. Of course, it means 0.8% chance instead of 0.6%, but still.
I'm afraid Kerber will have a 2009 Jankovic-like comedown.

You forget, there are still plenty of opportunities for classic SEWTA choking by the underdog. So don't give up hope! Nah. As Edna said, she didn't have it in her today. I thought she did alright until that crazy BP at 4-3. After that she pretty much gave up.

And I was mislead by the schedule posted here; I took it literally. I know, I think it's worse for the USians actually, but then I remembered that Joana is a night owl like myself so it's probably the worst for her. Did Wagasi mess up the OOP again? Fired.

So, yeah, the schedule shown is wrong, since doubles do go on even when NOC. I hope people will post here about the matches tonight. It's so fun to come here in the morning and, with about 2 minutes of reading, catch up on everything important that happened. No way can I poke around through Twitter for hours in the AM looking for the relevant posts. That is where this little board shines.

I know, I think it's worse for the USians actually, but then I remembered that Joana is a night owl like myself so it's probably the worst for her. Yeah, for me it's the worst scenario, since, ideally, I like to stay up late and sleep in. Which in this case means having to miss basically everything except for Djokovic. And the ending of Radwanska def. BAG 6-2 6-1. The consolation is that these matches generally don't look all that inspiring. Still, I would have liked to see at least a bit of Tipsy vs Almagro and Li vs Gorgeous.

Yeah, I know we have to rely on Grar and Alex for those hours.
Sometimes I can catch some late-night matches when I get up in the morning, but it's usually either too excruciating to watch (Kvitty) or too repetitive for my AM brain to want to get involved (5th set of Simon vs Monfils). Not too often do we get a Younes El Aynaoui-type thriller at that hour.
