So I thought, okay, some time has passed and AR hasn't won the first set 6-0, as she should have, judging from what I saw of NL, so maybe NL was playing better. How I regret turning it back on. All I can think is that AR is playing insanely poorly as well. To hell with all of them! Tonight, I read a book.

I don't know whether it's because I had such low expectations for this match or because I missed the whole first set til 4-4 but this match is not as horrific as Twitter and the Cult would have me believe. There have been some nice points (as well as comedic errors, obv).

Li was on a purple patch from 0-2 to 5-2 in that set, nothing Aga could do. Though overall she did look lacklustre, which I'll blame on her idiotic scheduling.
Li had the crowd in the palm of her hand during the interview! Love her.

Went down 2 bps, then hit two ridiculous serves. Hasn't lost a first serve point all set.
But then gets ground down by Ferrer.
This might be that game.

Almagro has such big shots. It's really impressive to watch him crush that backhand and serve. It's too bad that he just choked worse than Mauresmo ever could.
He served for it at 5-4 in the third, was up a break at 2-1 in the fourth, 4-3 in the fourth, 5-4 in the fourth, 6-5 in the fourth and lost it in a tiebreak. Never did he reach matchpoint. Then in the fifth he started cramping and it was really all over. This is just in case someone did not see that abomination or has already blocked it out. Cliffie said that if he was Almagro's coach he would be throwing up, presumably in disgust. By the way, he had not been broken once until 5-4 in the third.
Now 0-13 against Ferrer.

As for Radwanska, she went from committing four errors in two sets against Ivanovic to making 21 in the same number of sets today. Granted, the rallies were longer and they played more points/games. However, she ended up with a -11 differential and her trusty backhand deserted her when she called up two BPs in the final game. It was a winnable match from A-Rad but she didn't. Makes me question whether she's ever going to be good enough to deal with the elite power players because Li is not quite on their level.
Meanwhile, good news - Williams sisters lost in doubles to the technical #1 team! And after they served for it! They lost only because Venus is terrible now and can't hit groundstrokes anymore.

Really happy that Na Li and Ferrer were the winners in the end ;D
