I was waiting for a 2013 thread to discuss results but I'm happy with this too.
I'm most impressed with the Croats - 15 year old Konjuh (junior AO champ) won 6-0, 6-0 and Vekic won 6-1, 6-0. I hope I get to watch them play soon. Been a while since there was excitement over a teen prospect, let alone two.

Akgul beat Shvedova. Maybe her 2012 injury problems are over now.

I know, but I figured I should let an admin do it since it's Fed Cup. Working in an office environment really is toxic and not doing me a lot of good.

HOW on earth did Kumhkhum or whatever win a 6-0 set against Robson?

Akgul beat Shvedova. Maybe her 2012 injury problems are over now. Yeah, now it's just Shvedova who has a zillion problems instead.

Vinci lost to Lepchenko Lepchenko led 5-1 in the third set, Vinci brought it all the way back to 5-5, then started cramping and sukking and lost 5-7.

Sexidomi retired at 6-4 5-4 up Had to be stretchered off the court. I didn't watch it but according to someone at TF, she missed serves on purpose when serving for the match at 5-3 just so she could get to the break for a toilet break/MTO.

The video looked so weird, she just hunched over and then served everything out and in the next game randomly fell down.
Good day for janie's faves. Akgul took out golden Shved and Little Ayumi destroyed Katy-Mak.

Sam loses both her matches after holding matchpoint despite her Czech opponents throwing in generous chokes themselves.

Yeah, Stosur's dead. Hard to get even deader than Kvitty, but she's managed it. Can this be true, Lepchenko beat Errani?

Ehhhh, Sam's just a good match-up for Petra, especially on the Czechs' home surface.
Domi is really fit, that's never been called into question. Why is she cramping before she can finish two sets.
Shvedova has been sucking ever since her golden Wimbledon.
USA/ITA scores just made my jaw drop (have been catching up with entire weekend's scores). If upsets had happened you'd have expected Hampton to score them, not Lepchenko.

Just noticed that Cepelova beat Jovanovski 11-9 in the third - hopefully a good confidence booster for her, she needs one.

Not much to say about Rare Breast, she rallies well, gets a lot of balls back and is good at counter-punching, but she doesn't really stand out in any way. BoJo was woeful.

Great atmosphere at Italy vs Czechia match. And Vinci leads Kvitova again, though the match is not as great as the one in Katowice.

ITAs lost the last two finals though, to first-time RG champs.
So it will be Roberta VINCI (ITA) (12) lt. Irina FALCONI (USA) (WC) 6-1 6-7(4) 9-11

Fichman won somehow. Didn't she say she'd retire if she didn't make top 100 by 19 or something like that? Whatever happened to that promise?

BAG was actually very good today! Flashes of her 2007/2008 form there. Entertaining match, Kerber was very disappointed in the end.
