Gross, BAG won two matches over players I like. Not acceptable.

Wow, Vinci beat Kvitova again and it was convincing. She also has a chance to close the tie by beating Safarova.

Petra beat Sara. Not sure what happened after that...
RUS won all 3 matches on the second day to beat SVK 3-2.

Meanwhile, outside of World Group SF, GBR hilariously lost to ARG. Robson lost to Ormaechea and Baltacha left in tears after losing to Irigoyen.
CAN beat UKR, because, I don't know.

Gross, BAG won two matches over players I like. Not acceptable. Oh and GER won all the other matches so SRB lost anyway.

I've been offline all weekend. Did USA really choose Stephens to kick off that tie? Not that the final result was anything other than NID, but...really? CAKE made a triumphant return to the FRA team, I see. CAN/UKR were pretty evenly matched going in, I thought. Not one match you could call easily. Beating ARG on clay would have required Robson in poor form to win it single-handedly. Wasn't gonna happen. Shitra won fewer games off Roby than last week

Petra beat Sara. Not sure what happened after that... RUS won all 3 matches on the second day to beat SVK 3-2. Nothing yet. It's been rained out until tomorrow. Tough loss for the Slovaks. Hantuchova lost in three close sets in reverse singles and then lost the doubles with Cibulkova again in three.

BAG did great and I'm happy for her. As for the rest, bleh. They don't belong in the World Group I anyway. Oh boy, Slovakia really blew it. I was sure they were in the winning position yesterday. Where was Shitra today

Doctors had to confirm that Serena, Venus and Sloane were injured and unable to play the dead doubles match. That's nice.

LOL, is it sadder that the RUS team is considering Daria Gavrilova because NOC in the top 100...or that even Gavrilova is telling Fed Cup to stick it Daria Gavrilova @daria_gav 28m No. I'm not playing Fed Cup. I wasn't even considered as a national team player before Kremlin Cup. Daria Gavrilova @daria_gav 23m Didn't even get any priority to practice even though though they had reserved time for Fed Cup team. Daria Gavrilova @daria_gav 23m I have a chance to improve my ranking in the next two WTA 125 tournaments in Asia. Daria Gavrilova @daria_gav 20m Although,if Russian federation was interested in my professional progress, I think they could try n help me n award me with a WC for KK. Daria Gavrilova @daria_gav 18m But their priorities were Anastasia Bukhanko - www.itftennis.com/procircuit/players/player/profile.aspx?PlayerID=100119578 … And Ksenia Pervak who cannot play Fed Cup matches in the next 2 years

Isn't Pervak a proud Kazakh anymore? Seriously they should punish players for such trolling.

Nail in the coffin of Fed Cup when even RUS doesn't give a crap. Fed Cup should change to Balkan Cup and let CRO fight SRB every year, because then at least a few people would care about winning it.

Hilariously, Panova almost beat Vinci. She had 4 match points! And of course lost 6-8 in the third.

Italy won 3-0 - Errani beat Khromacheva and Kleybanova.
For a player who has stagnated in the rankings, I was impressed by Khromacheva - she has a very watchable all-court game and seems to have the ability to hit every shot in the book (how many 18-year-olds can you say that about?) Some of the drop-shots she hit were outrageously good.
She's very raw at the moment and clearly needs to work on her FH and shot-selection, and I feel she's somewhat limited physically, but she has the potential to be a very decent player if she puts it all together.
