Some interesting early rounds here. Benneteau has to play Llodra! Doubles partners collide! Also, Del Potro drew Monfils first thing. Tomic v. Dmitrov! Fed might play Jerzy Janowicz in the QF.

Stacked draw.
Bernie/Grisha...I hope no one touts that one-sided Tomic victory-in-waiting as a battle of the next generation, or something.

LOL @ me; Grisha won in three sets (albeit unexciting sets).

Excellent! Any time we can put off Tomic's Reign for another day is good. Hopefully he'll get into another funk, get caught speeding again and so on, year after year like Groundhog Day.

Well, he can't play in Australia for another year so ...
Tsonga is in the thick of a third set with Sisjling who I can't remember ever beating anyone ...

Jerzy Janowicz is also out first round.
Granola lost to some Q from Italy. He is not looking so great.
Tsonga needs a hold to stay in the match at 4-5.

He doesn't get it after holding numerous GPs.
Pathetic loss!

Jo Granola has never in his career looked great.

I'm watching Delpo vs Gulbis. The difference in quality after Woz-Barthel is just incredible. They manage to hit winners after very fast-paced rallies, imagine that!!!!
Obviously there were errors, but the quality of hitting makes up for it.

Down 15-40 Gulbis hits 4 aces in a row.

Gulbis and Delpo just played a fantastic long rally, it was a tough one. Delpo received a time warning after it. For me this is stupid, the umpires should use the common sense in those instances. I don't mind the rule, I get that players go overboard at times, but seriously... wasn't it supposed to help the spectators enjoy the game more? I like long hard-hitting rallies, I don't mind the players taking 5 seconds more to catch their breath.

I love when Fed says things like that. Great win for Julien. His game really does seem to give Roger real problems. From what I've seen in past matches, he's able to take the ball pretty early on the backhand and return Fed's serve very well. Given how many times he broke today, I assume he had all that going on. I think Murray will be #2 soon. Roger isn't playing as well as he was last year at this time. And if Murray does take #2 soon, it'll be deserved. He has a better GS resume in the last 12 months.

RF: “I don’t want to leave, I want to play. I feel bad for the fans who don’t get to see me now." Amazing. I kind of love Fed when he comes out with this #humble stuff. Nice that Benneteau got his win over him.

That came out of nowhere - yes, I remember Benneteau having Federer on the ropes at Wimbledon last year but doesn't Roger like own this event or something? Anyway, yay!

Delpo was really good against Grisha today.

I didn't realise Benneteau was 0-7 in finals, the most finals without a win of any active player. This is the first time he's played a top 10 opponent in a final, and the commentators were speculating beforehand that it might actually benefit him. So far, it has: playing some very good points, he has the immediate break.

Delpo responds in kind. From 0-2* to *3-2.
