QD:
(1)Sharon Fichman (CAN) v Olga Savchuk (UKR) Anastasija Sevastova (LAT) v Arantxa Parra Santonja (ESP) Catalina Castano (COL) v Laura Thorpe (FRA) Amra Sadikovic (SUI) v (8)Johanna Konta (GBR)
(2)Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) v (wc)Ana Sofia Sanchez (MEX) Katarzyna Piter (POL) v Ines Ferrer Suarez (ESP) Renata Voracova (CZE) v (wc)Marcela Zacarias (MEX) Elena Bogdan (ROU) v (5)Mariana Duque-Marino (COL)
(3)Irina Falconi (USA) v Kateryna Kozlova (UKR) Aleksandra Krunic (SRB) v Laura Pous-Tio (ESP) Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (ESP) v Corinna Dentoni (ITA) Magda Linette (POL) v (7)Nastassja Burnett (ITA)
(4)Yvonne Meusburger (AUT) v (wc)Victoria Rodriguez (MEX) Jill Craybas (USA) v Richel Hogenkamp (NED) Grace Min (USA) v Shelby Rogers (USA) Polina Pekhova (BLR) v (6)Stephanie Dubois (CAN)
The two Mexican WCs bolded seem like decent junior prospects; Zacarias beat Caravane in qualies here last year. I'm surprised she didn't get a MD WC.
What happened to Mariajo, anyway? I know she's had injuries over the past couple of years but she's sunk REALLY low, not even seeded in MM qualies.

I don't know what happened, but I hope she's on her way back now. At least she won her first match, and it will be very disturbing if she can't win the next one.

Sesil gets the jackpot

Zacarias did win one round, but then was crushed like a bug by the mighty DUQUE, 26 06. It's funny to think that a Mexican junior might actually look up to MDM, who, after all, has a WTA TITLE to her name.

Speaking of crushed like a bug, today it was my hopes for my favorite POR, MJK, which were clobbered by the mighty Candle Head, yes, I said Candle Head. She allowed Mary Joe POR only 2 games. MJK is going to have to step up if she wants to remain in WTA Mickey Mouse Main Draw world.

Sesil gets the jackpot Knowing Sesil, that was tempting fate, but she delivered.

She gets a crack at Fran next, and Fran is in such a state that even Sesil has a shot there.

Obviously, Sesil just ended up as Fran's first straight-sets win of the year.

It would be cool if CSN finally got a title, but probably not going to happen.

I'm rooting for Errani - I like having her as a lower-end Top 10 player.
Also, three consecutive finals on three consecutive continents for Errani? (Paris, Dubai, Acapulco)

I'm not rooting against Errani -- but CSN should have won a title by now.

Ditto to Hurley. I'm pro-Sarita but I'm more pro-CSN.

I hope she never wins RG, but snags a Wimbledon title after being golden setted there. That'd be more hilarious.
She could be our very own C. Martinez.
