It's not to justify the ranking. It's to have any hope against him when they play in a big match.
And based on today's result, he has zero chance against him ever. 0 and 2. That was the best Ferrer could do.

Just embarrassing for Fit Dave. If you can't even win more than two games off Rafa here and now... It's a terrible matchup for Fit Dave. Rafa is the better version of him in every way. No shame in that.
