No Muzz, huh. He is the defending RUPist.

"RUPist" looks...wrong.

WC for Dima? Are they giving WCs to men based on sexiness now?

Marko's day in the lesser sun of qualies has already ended with a thud, 46 16. And poor Jaziri! So he does get his WC this year -- and has to face Fed in r1. Ah, well. But I like this draw. In r1 Llodra vs Jo, Delpo vs Baghy stand out. Blaz is here, and Tomic could have some fun.

Dima is by far the most accomplished of those 3 WCs, though. So whatever the reason, I support it. For both reasons.

Jaziri won a set from Fed! Clearly this feat freaked the poor guy out, because he only won 2 games after that.

Tsonga's first ever loss to Llodra today. Perhaps we shouldn't be so surprised as it comes after a long week.
JMDP survived 3 MPs.

Dima and his sexy WC into the QF.
Second consecutive opening round loss for Tipsy. The fall cometh? Let's hope. KING KOLYA is the beneficiary, and faces a very subpar Fed in the QF.

It's weird how much Fed and Davydenko play.

Fed and Davydenko seem to have two types of matches - one where Nikolai is close to winning but doesn't and one where he gets totally hammered. Today was the latter variety.
Seppi could barely win games from Djokovic so ... that bodes ill for everyone else.
Roger plays Tomas now ... since 2010, Tomas leads their head-to-head 4-3. I think he has every chance of winning tomorrow, too. It'll be interesting.

Berdych saves 3 matchpoints to win! As much as I root against him, I'm very happy right now.

I'm happy because I put money on it. The predictability of the result was the sad thing.
Still no final for Fed this season; this time last year he was putting together a three-title streak.

Yeah, today's loss is a total disaster, too. Berdych is really putting a hurt on him the last few years and I think he needed this one to at least maintain a sort of equilibrium in this match-up. Not getting it really hurts.
And I think it underscores that he really isn't playing like he was last year at this time. I said before I suspect Murray is getting to #2 very soon. I think the fall cometh for Rog - it is hard to see him defending IW. It's now been a good six months since his last title ... one more hardcourt MS and then the clay season begins. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't win again until Halle!

Meanwhile, I think Novak will romp to the title now. He owns Berdych lock, stock and barrel.

I'm not watching, but my Mom, NOVAK's oldest big fan, told me she is. Weird that she has opted to get the Tennis Channel and I haven't (for now).

Nole wins the title to no one's shock. When did he last lose an ATP/GS match? Paris TMS right? I'm not counting the Hopman Cup losses, it being an exho and all.

Correct.
Good week for Berdych. You know, if it really is soon The End for Roger and Rafa, I think Berdych might be the one to benefit the most.

The final takes some of the shine off Berdych's week, I think. He should not have lost the way he did. He had multiple chances to end up on the other end of this scoreline and really, he choked a bit.
Reminded me of Almagro-Nadal from last night. Nicolas could have ended up on the other end of that scoreline but he failed to play the big points well.

In light of what Ferrer did, Berdych and Almagro can probably feel quite good about themselves.
