Gulbis smashed his racquet at the start of the final set, went down 0-4, got a point penalty on an audible obscenity...and still beat Queer Eye, who concluded the TB and match with two SEWTA-esque DFs

Seems like Haas has mastered the idea of showing up to these denuded events and vulturing some points. Worked great for him last summer at ... Hamburg and Washington, was it?
Hmm. Querrey is #23 again already? When did he ... win some matches?
Oh, now I see. Last year, he won LA by beating one (1) top 100 player (Malisse, then #72). That was a cool 250 pts. Then he reached the semis in Washington for 180 more points. Best win there? Kevin Anderson in the QF.
Other than that, despite a strange ability to beat Kei Nishikori, Sam doesn't seem to beat anyone good. Let's throw out his bizarre upset of Djokovic at PMS last year.

Last summer's US swing was prime vulturing territory while everyone else was at the Olympics.
*anticipating Vandeweghe's plummet down the rankings more than anything else in tennis this year*

Well, the SF are Isner vs. Roger-Vasselin, and Gulbis vs. Haas. Nice sexy match at the bottom there and Gulbis quickly fulfilled my request to get back into the Top 100. Now, stop nailing whores and win more. Surprised Berankis couldn't beat ERV.

So what's the betting Ernie gets a million "back!!!!!1111" articles after he wins today, all detailing how he's really committed to tennis this time and even gave up smoking or whatever, then he goes 0-17 for the rest of the season.
