Barty won two games against Foretz-Gacon She'll probably still get three Slam MD WCs per year until she finally makes direct entry herself anyway. Tennis Australia have no shame. Relatedly, Rogowska comes no closer to making a Slam draw via anything other than a WC - an expected straight-sets loss to Cetkovska, who should qualify.

Fichman lost to Mitu, thankfully.

Not a good day for Thailand, Tammy aside. Wongteanchai breadsticked top seed Ormaechea - but still lost. The grass season should have been a big points-harvesting opportunity for her and Kumkhum, but they leave with nothing thanks to some nasty draws

Sema Jr vs A-Nasty sounded like quite the fiery encounter judging by Twitter - Sema surprisingly won, 7-5 in the third.

Ormaechea, after surviving that r1 encounter, won just 3 games against Dellacqua -- that's more what we'd expect. If only ONE Latina player could qualify, I'd be happy.

Unbelievable that Moose Burger and Birnerova qualified We know Sesil is terrible already but Schmiedlova...very disappointing. Though both might still be LLs - there are two spots. Glushko and King are the other two contenders for those.

Witthoeft and Tomljanovic are out Q debutantes; Mestach was narrowly stopped, 8-6 in the third, by Duque Marino - a result I'd have categorised with Moose Burger/Birnerova, but MDM didn't look awful yesterday.
