I tried to bold seeds, then dangerous floaters, then interesting matches and so there's A LOT of random bolding.
- This is a more interesting draw in terms of opening/early matches than RG. - Excited to see how Hampton, Vekic & Keys will perform. - I wonder if Robson-Kirilenko will get a spot on CC. - Serena doesn't have a cakewalk like she did at RG : Zheng & Lisicki before R4. She won't lose but maybe a challenge early on? - Masha has a cakewalk. Errani in the QF? Though Hampton or someone could come out of there. Mladenovic should be an interesting opener (I finally get to see her play!) - Hoping for deep runs from Lucic, Bartoli, JaJa and the assorted rubbish I support. - Azza/Masha SF is good. Let them fight to see who finishes #2. I think Masha wins if they meet. - Kvitty in the QF? With all the Stepanek talk and her poor form, she could very well lose to Shvedova in R2 or E-Kat in R4. Don't see her making it to Azza.
Serena wins.

You're welcome to edit and fix it - I'm too lazy! I just gave up trying to make sense of the bolding halfway through.

For once Krumm gets a decent draw. Perhaps a third round against Sarin.

Tough draw for Hampton. She's doing great but exhausting herself in Eastbourne. I'm afraid she's going to fall in Wimby r1 a la Julie Halard-Decugis in 2000.

She'll start getting seeded at Slams at USO. Winning her first title (a Premier no less) is much more important than a few wins at Wimbledon at this stage of her career. She's already accrued more points at Yeast than she would making even 4R at Wimbledon.

She's already accrued more points at Yeast than she would making even 4R at Wimbledon. Wow! I didn't know that about the points; that's fantastic. But I was actually secretly thinking the same thing about these consecutive wins over more or less "elite" players being more important to her career right now than getting past Sloane at Wimbledon. Not sure it'd be easy to convince her of that, but I think it's true. For this year only, Jamie! Next year, remember to tank early the week before a Slam, the way the top players do.

Oh, I hadn't seen this when I posted in the Yeastbourne thread! I do hope Jamie can get past Sloane, at least. Their H2H is 1-1. God, how much do I want Vekic to avenge her AO loss and take Woz out in R2. That would be amazing. Yay, Schmiedlova and King got the LLs. I really hope Serena gets booed for her rape apologism and Jie finally gets a win against her after pushing her so many times. I guess the fallout from those comments might be the only vague question mark over her, though. It's not much of a straw. LOLed when I saw a tennis journalist tweet that Robson, Kirilenko and Goerges in the same place = a stacked section. JuGs is completely useless on grass (and everywhere, these days), and Robson is in terrible form. If I was Kirilenko I'd do cartwheels at that draw. Watson/Keys could be a pretty nice match. Winner gets Niculescu or Barthel - hey, prime opportunity for Mona to extend her Slam losing streak to, what is it now, seven? Grassonkova should strike against Chunkova too. Li will probably find a way to lose to Halep A-Rad for the SF? If Shitra dares lose to fucking Vandeweghe...if she DARES. SURELY she wouldn't do that to me. *places bet on Colleen*

It's true that Jamie should focus on the Premier title, it's just a shame when she landed in a section where the seeds are Wozniacki, Stephens, Errani and Lepchenko. OTOH, Vekic might take advantage of that section instead!

In the Vinci section, I did that thing where I went, well, Halep will probably beat Li and has never lost to Hantuchova, who will upset Zakopalova. Vinci is pretty safe for the last 16 and Halep whomped her last week. BUTTTTTT Halep has played two weeks in a row and surely will be tired out at some point? She's not used to that many matches. Appropriately, the resulting brain freeze threw up Hantuchova.

You both picked Vekic. I considered it, but she flopped against the Woz in Australia after high expectations, so, I dunno. It would be nice!

My thought was that at this point she has a lot more experience (and at her age and stage of career, even 6 months makes a big difference in terms of progression). That, and also I'd imagine she'd be more comfortable since she trains in London. And ofcourse, there's a lot of hoping in there too.

Well...I don't even know if I actually think it. I wouldn't be wholly surprised if Vekic lost R1 to qualy-hardened Cetkovska. But I figured, she's improving fast, grass favours her more than the Woz-friendly slow AUS hard courts, Woz has diminished since then...and what's the point of being on a bandwagon if you can't pick them at a time like this.

It's in women's tennis, in Sharapova Fluff, if you change your mind. Meanwhile, what about this? Surely this won't be allowed? I don't even get why they're allowed to have mobile phones with them when they come on court. Couldn't they glance at a text from their coach on the changeovers? Computerworld -
A professional tennis player hopes to wear Google Glass at the famed Wimbledon tennis tournament that begins next week.
Bethanie Mattek-Sands, 28, ranked number 58 in the world, plans to wear the Glass technology at the London tournament. American Mattek-Sands is one of the thousands of users in the Glass early adopter program.
It's unclear at this point whether the very traditional Wimbledon sponsor, the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet, will allow the wearable computer technology to be used by tournament competitors.
The All England Club has not yet responded to a Computerworld request for comment on Mattek-Sands' plan to use the technology.
"Glass' potential in the sports realm is huge," said a Google spokeswoman in an email to Computerworld. "It can connect athletes, coaches and fans in new ways."
"For Bethanie, it's allowed her to capture her strokes from her point of view during practice and share those with her coaches. Bethanie's fans can also see the world through her eyes as she embarks upon the road to Wimbledon, where she'll play her first match next week," the spokeswoman added.I left out the part where Beth uses google glass to look up recipes. Where is our eyeroll smiley.
