Oh man. I love Flipper's grass game. Petra lofted that forehand off the slice so far out ...
That's an amazing stat. Flipkens - 5 UEs for the match so far.
An ace!!! Triple mp.
Nice backhand winner from Petra.
Huge backhand return saves another. Just one left ...
Huge ace out wide!!! CHallenge??!?! No! It's good!

Well done, Flipper!! Played really well.
I hope someone asks Sloane if it's Ok to fall to the ground after reaching SF?

I saw the chalk fly up. LOL @ Shitra challenging. I think she saw Na Li's non-challenge and didn't want to look that stupid

So I don't think Flipkens can win Wimbledon, but I suppose any of the other three can.
First-time Slam winner guaranteed!!! Exciting.

I can still see that Flipken's floater fluttering in the air, Shitra ponderously lumbering in ...

Lisicki, ARad, Flipper & Bartoli - this is a line-up of a MM tourny The one ARad usually vulturing!

I like Flipper, anyway. That was a very articulate post-match interview.

First-time Slam winner guaranteed!!! Exciting. This is always a good thing. Remember the excitement when Na, GOATra & Stosur all won their maiden Slams two years ago?

I'm sure Justine is not hiding tears of bitterness after seeing this Wimbledon SF line-up. Off course she managed to lose to Marion herself.

It really is Aga's to win now, with the only question mark being her tiredness. Of course, it's possible Lisicki just turns up and blows her away, especially if she's not as fast as usual.

I'm sure Justine is not hiding tears of bitterness after seeing this Wimbledon SF line-up. Off course she managed to lose to Marion herself. She was truly beaten by Marion, though. I don't think she regrets that match. She does. She said she started thinking about facing Venus in the final, and that intimidated her and she lost focus on the SF. Oops! But there's no scary vintage-era Venus-type looming for anyone this time. I wonder if they'll all fall apart. If Flipkens plays as well as you all say she did today, I don't see how Cake could possibly beat her. Who was it who put Flipkens in the final in their after-the-massacre picks? Somebody did.

I thought CAKE would lose earlier. I think Cake can handle Flipper. Surely there is no WAY Lisicki's mentality would hold up in a Slam final.

No, we all assumed Serena would win without losing a game. But, I did pick Flipper for the final. I still think she'll make it. I also like her in the final if she gets Lisicki.

And terrible it was. We are getting another Johansson, Myskina, Kvitova, Ivanovic one slam wonder. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it better not be Skankska, the Poles at TF will be insufferable until the end of that board.

I think Cake can handle Flipper. Really? But why> What does she do better than Grasskens did today? Or is it that you think Flip will flip out at the enormity of the occasion?

I don't think either will choke, I just think Bartoli will take the ball early and pound away at the Flipkens BH like she did with Stephens. And unlike Shitra, Marion won't be discombobulated by slice. And her passing shots are pretty good if Flipkens tries to net-rush.

Also, there were other Slam winners involved at this point for those. This time, we already know. I tried to think of how often this had come up since 1990 in a discussion at TF. Only the second time (RG 2010), BUT the number of times 3 of the 4 Slam winners hadn't won a Slam yet starts to occur a lot more 2003 onwards. 1990s - 3 times 2003-2008 - 4 times Post Henin retirement - 10 times www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=30509889&postcount=17

I like the matchup for Cake also, but I question if she's playing well enough. She's had a bad year, and this draw was a joke filled with players she could control.
