I was liking the look of this 20-yr-old Mate Pavic leading Monfils. Great lefty FH and I like the willingness to finish points at net. Monfils looks possibly a bit injured but Pavic showed good fight after losing an early break lead. And then just as he was about to serve for the set...unexpected MTO for Pavic.

And then essayed a classic choke for the set. Broken to love.

Insane SF between, obviously, Gael Force and Fogs.
Fogs, on his 12-match winning streak, led 6-0, 3-6, 5-0. Then loses six games in a row (I tuned in at 5-4), blowing two MPs and gagging horrendously the last time he served for it. Then saves three MPs despite continuing to gag at 5-6 at Monfils totally blows his chance. Then wins the TB in fairly underwhelming fashion.
Inevitably Fognini had nothing left for the final, got trashed by Boredo. Insanity notwithstanding, unexpected and very fine three-week run from him.
