Woz manages to hold serve for once ... threw in some decent serves there.

Poor Duan, a little nervous there, but she's been better at breaking serve than holding it all along; hope she remembers that.
But at her size, why has she not got a massive serve? Stoopid CTA.

Wow. Woz really had to step up to squeak past Tall Duan. Good for her. Duan not quite ready for Prime Time, and who knows if she'll ever get there, depends on CTA coaching & management, I think. Jerzy's out

And now The Dim One exits, too. Woeful USO from the 2nd tier of men!

Haha, I just saw that Petrova lost tamely to Glushko. Glushko! Soon it will be you who's forced to play in the Hidden World, Nadya.

I guess Monfils is fine. Crushing Isner is back on the table. Make it happen, universe!

Excellent!
Meanwhile, here's one thing Sousa did to make things hard for Grisha: "Even in the hot conditions, he wouldn't commit an unforced error until the fifth-and-deciding set."

Posposil and other guy blowing match points. Neither wants to face Nadal. Let's just cancel the next match.

Good for Sara! 6-0. Send her to the Melbourne Zoo, kid.

A double bagel is looming!
Lucic lost to Sachia Vickery (who?).
Sexy Domi in big trouble. She's definitely the most random player on tour at this point.

Edna's here! :yay: So Lucic lost already? Sheesh! She's just so hopeless. So glad I gave up on her a while back, she's a real nightmare to cheer for.

I'm so glad I never saw the Safina-Rogowska match. The worst performance by a #1 ever, despite the eventual win. Probably worse than her losses to Golden Flowers later that year and definitely worse than BAG's loss to Coin. Duval surprisingly serving for the set against Stosur but unsurprisingly choking.

Duval! She must be playing a lot better than she was when I saw her last Q match. Despite the inevitable choke. May have to tune in to that

Ha, I tuned in just in time to see Duval's still-horrendous serve being clocked by Stosur. First set to Sammy! Can't imagine what she was doing up to this point if that's how Duval's been serving all match long.

I have no idea either. I tuned in when she was trying to serve it out and it didn't go too well. But she can at least stay in some baseline rallies and she's just made a break!

Yeah, her groundstrokes have been okay. But Sam has settled down and it looks like it's all over for Duval. Wish she could have landed the Daniilidou spot!
