Sunshine was hyped as a youngster, then she suddenly grew into not being cute so that faded. Then she became "#1" and everyone hated her. And now she's mildly popular in that default area with BAG because we know who they are and nobody cares about any SEWTA beyond Serena and Ma$ha. Excellent summation. Go to the head of the class and sit with Wallace Cleaver!

Youzhny on warning for slamming his racquet. Any chance we'll see him nearly knock himself out with one before this is done?

Excellent summation. Go to the head of the class and sit with Wallace Cleaver! I'm changing my name to Mary Ellen Rogers Excellent choice. Unfortunately for me, I'm a cross between Mrs. Rayburn and Lumpy. I wanted to see Sousa play, but I'm guessing tonight isn't the best time to see him at his best.

Oh, and who didn't know that if Serena won, which we all knew she would, that she'd then follow up by praising Sloane to the skies? So easy to praise players you can crush like ants under your feet. Whereas neither Serena nor Venus nor Oracene EVER said a single good word about Henin. Serena did say in her autobiography that "Justine had her number in 2007". In Serena World that's about the biggest compliment you can ever get! I've seen quite a lot of this tournament but little has been particularly inspiring. I stayed up way late for Woz vs Giorgi last night and it was well worth it. What a thrilling match!

That third set from Giorgi must have been something to see. Thanks for telling me that Serena got that close to complimenting Justine! I sure turned on this Haas match at a bad time. Maybe I should check out Smyczek? I don't want to see one of my Sousa's getting clobbered. He probably ate gluten!

Granola won the 4th set. It's the first time I've seen him or Smyczek play, but it was only a few points I saw. Now the crowd, such as it is, is obnoxiousy chanting USA! USA! USA! like it's World Cup or something.

Smyczek broke and I think that will be that because he's playing with energy and Granola looks like he's running on fumes, despite his, energy-saving tanking of a whole set earlier on. Oh, well.

Yes, silly SEWTA. They were so glad to say Good riddance to tense little Henin; so happy to see happy blonde Sunshine "arrive". Only she never did arrive, oops. But unlike SEWTA itself, the world media was hard on Woz from early on. She's number one without a Slam! (Just like Tiger Woods, sure, but that's different because he's secretly still and always the best!) Come on, I know you hate him, you know it's about as different as it can be, Janie. Tigre has won more Slams than almost everyone in golf history. Karolina has won less than everyone in tennis history (tied with zillions of other people).

Aga continues to underwhelm at the USO. Makarova's Slam results (and big-name scalps) are so disproportionately better to her early-round exits everywhere else.
Wow, Li trashed JaJa. SF vs Serena maybe ahead...
I like Youzhny but we needed Haas to beat Hewitt, ugh.

Tigre has won more Slams than almost everyone in golf history. Karolina has won less than everyone in tennis history (tied with zillions of other people). Of course I know that. But sports rankings are supposed to be based on Current Events, not on Ancient History. And like Woz when she was #1, Tiger stays at #1 by winning many lesser events, but no Majors since 2008. Clearly 2008 isn't coming into play when they calculate the rankings, so it's just as dumb. Golf #1 only got criticism when it was Luke Donald up there.
