The good thing about these match-ups is that you get really great, intense tennis even when the scoreline is straightforward. The 2011 USO final was so incredible. I do think Rafa is going to be on the other side of a similarly straightforward scoreline this time, though. All as I predicted On the other hand, I just remembered I put cash on a Rafa win

Rafa is still undefeated on hard courts this year. I guess now that stat means something. And he should end the year as #1, which is amazing, considering he doesn't have 2 slam points in his ranking.

2011 was unsustainable. And not coming back He still had all those legendary comebacks last year, and even this year. Against players he didn't need to come back against in 2011! The intensity of their matches really disguises the fact that apart from Nole's streak of 7 in 2011- Jan 2012, Rafa has dominated their h2h pretty comprehensively.

The US is just a crass nation, what can I say. Wow. I just can't believe how satisfying this is. Rafa! And it's true, he has changed his game again, to shorten the points, better for his knees, of course, and way better for us, too. Good night everyone!

Rafa hates talking about his knee, he always cuts that question in the press-conferences. Why ask him now? And then the money question, off course. It's sooo awkward every time. And maybe it's just me but the way the crowd reacts is also more and more awkward every year. With the current economy, nobody wants to hear out loud that a guy who's hitting a yellow ball is making 3,6 millions for winning 7 matches.

The intensity of their matches really disguises the fact that apart from Nole's streak of 7 in 2011- Jan 2012, Rafa has dominated their h2h pretty comprehensively. I understand your point, that's obviously true. It's just during that dominant streak it looked like Rafa will never beat Novak again, it was such a hopelessness. And it was final after final. Novak even beat Nadal this year at Monte-Carlo! Pretty convincingly. So I'll never have a complete confidence that Rafa will win vs Novak, but at least I don't go into matches convinced that he will lose anymore.

The crowd is always booing now, so who are they selling that info to? I understand the need to mention sponsors, fine, mention who provides the prize money, but why count all of it? Who're they trying to impress?
