Such interest in a Masters series tournament! Nishikori/Dimitrov was a tantalising R1 but it was the same old from Grisha. A few flashy "ooh" shots but for every one, three loose errors. NID flopping at crucial moments, that terrible final game. And he seems to have added some disturbing serving yips to the mix, ridiculous DFs. Kei played well though Although at least he isn't Ryan Harrison, who was straight-setted by Go Soeda in qualies

Tomic lost to "swiss" Chardy. Melzer beat Dodig. I like it so far!

Monfils beat Fed? Federer really is over, isn't he. Why does he have to beat it into our heads, though.

Monfils really gave the second set away through stupidity, too. Federer should have had all the momentum going into the third and flopped horribly.

That's the worst part about it! It'd be so much easier to deal with if Fed was losing a little footspeed or power or whatever due to aging, but to see all his confidence and mental strength sapped, bit by bit over the last few years, is excruciating. On the positive side, though, I expected Stan to lose to Raonic, since Stan had a tough first match and Raonic's been in good form this fall, but he came through in straight sets. So, one up, one down for les Swissers.

His loss to Monfils is hardly his worst this year.
STAN STAN STAN. TSN positioned that as an upset, because they don't know what rankings are or who Stan is.

I really want Stan to become Swiss No 1 soon.

He will!
So, SFs have Delpo and Tsonga, not bad. Monfils took a set off Nole, but I doubt he can do more.

Stan On the receiving end of so much heartbreak in 2013.

Rafa is losing 2-6 2-4 to DelPo and I'm totally fine with it. DelPo is playing some really great tennis and Rafa is not, so I don't mind Delpo being rewarded with a win. Rafa is still fighting, but his break point conversion rate is Federer-like today. 0 for 8, I think.

DelPo won 6-2 6-4 and he was so happy, the celebration was cute!
DelPo vs Nole final, I hope DelPo can finally win a Masters title

I hope so, too! So happy for him. And Rafa can get some rest. It's a win-win.

Novak being irritated that the crowd dares to root for his opponent is irritating me. Novak won

I feel like every great ATP match in 2013 has ended in Delpo or Stan tears
