Yeah, if Nadal is losing to Fit D then he could feasibly lose to all of those guys. I don't expect much from him here.
Maybe Stan can do something with that.

Ha, I was thinking you might. So might everyone with any sense. But I'm going to stick stubbornly with Rafa, not because he's been so great lately, but just because I wish him to win and knock Nole off his false throne. Every time Rafa loses lately, I decide that that tournament is not an important one, and in this way, he stays King in my head. So it might end up that I have to decide that WTF is also a negligible, insignificant, nothing of a tournament that real players blow off. Just like the Paris Masters.

I read something on MTF today about how Rafa always disappears after Wimbledon. Winning this title will not make any talk go away. People will continue to be complete fucking idiots, regardless of facts.
Besides, I feel a bit sad for the eight year olds on the Internet who hate Rafa. First, as toddlers, they thought he would never win Wimbledon. Then they clung desperately to the US Open. Then they clung even more pathetically to the idea that the USO has been a fluke. And then this summer happened, and they almost all died of extreme sadness. So, let them have this one. Even totally lame people deserve the occasional bone.

I started to hate Rafa after he won everything, which I always thought he would (And I think he'll win this, notwithstanding his new round of whining that I don't know how his fans put up with.) Stan really controlled the whole match vs. Berdych today, he's playing well but as the horror second set TB demonstrated, he's mentally shaky enough that he'll choke when it counts. I'm happy with the draw as long as Delpo beats Fed! And hopefully Delpo and Nole don't wear each other out too much.

As far as I know, Rafa's whining peaked in 2011 or so. I did find it irritating, and if he had kept it up, I would have to hold it against him. But I believe he's moved on from that phase.

You're correct, even as a fan I can admit that Rafa was whining too much in 2011, so I could understand the hate and finding that annoying. I was annoyed and wished he'd shut up. But nowadays it's like he can't even share his opinion on anything? Unless it 100% positive? I hate that Novak was again annoyed that the crowd was rooting for his opponents in Paris, that comes off so entitled. I just wish he'd stop.

Hey look it's Stan losing another so-close-but-so-far match. And all the time you knew what was coming, including when he hit that amazing winner to go up 5-4 and a minibreak in the TB. For a career year, it's been characterised by a lot of heartbreak. Poor Stan.
