That's a good question. Why have Burley and Alex stopped posting here? Was there any explanation?

Burley prefers twitter, and apparently doesn't want to do both. As for Alex, he told me a couple weeks ago that he temporarily had no access to his laptop, and that accessing the Cult via mobile phone was a big problem, something Hurley had mentioned earlier. But Alex had expected then to be back here the next day, and that didn't happen, and now I'm really worried. I could ask him again -- I had contacted him with a twitter PM -- but I really don't want to hound people. But if he doesn't come back, it doesn't make much sense to keep up the Bumpkinette thread, or post WTA qualy draws, just for you and me. Others might pop in for bigger events, but let's face it, if Alex leaves, that cuts the heart right out of the Cult.

No point in stalking them around. It's just odd because it seems so abrupt and Brinyi-like. They were the most active posters here beside you.

I access this site with my mobile most of the time now. Maybe it's a model thing?
I'll be in transit in Doha this week but won't get out so no attending the event. Shame because it looks like a good draw despite the withdrawals.

Sloane was duly punished for faking injury to skip Fed Cup to play Doha -- lost in straight sets in r1. That'll teach ya!

Mirjana is rampant! Or whatever a 64 61 over Pavly means.

Well, it means Mirjana didn't play like a flake today, and that's something. Four wins here now! How about that Kvitty, too, eeking out such a tight win over Venus. I like Venus a lot, but Petra desperately needs to come out of her funk, so I was pulling for her in this one. Woz has her dad out on court for a consult. So much for the latest New Coach Scam.

So Halep wins Doha. Odd but glad she prevented Aga from doing so.
I saw quite a bit of Kerber-Ivanovic on tv. BAG was still making ridiculous errors and seemed lost at times - some poor shot selection cost Angie this match. To BAG's credit, she didn't fade away after the first set (from 2-0 to 3-6).

Ali! Are you back in Malaysia? Anyway, BAG saved her fade-away for today: lost to Venus 26 16.

I care! I just now found out. Hilarious that it was Cornet, of all people. This proves that Cornet >>> Ma$ha, then?

Serena likes to meet our expectations:
“I think out of a 10, I was at like a negative 283, so - wow,” Serena told reporters.

Ali! Are you back in Malaysia? Anyway, BAG saved her fade-away for today: lost to Venus 26 16. I'm back in Malaysia now! An all-Williams final prevented by Cornet and Serena being the sister who lost. So crazy! Old age finally catching up to Serena? I think we'll see more losses like this in 2014.
