I've never even heard of him, but I've been drinking.

Even had you been sober, you might not have heard of Clezar. He had an OK but not great jr career (reached #13 with a couple of slam quarterfinals). In the pros he has a challenger title and a handful of jr titles, all in Brazil. So it doesn't seem like he will amount to much. His days as a teen will end on Dec. 31.

I think #1 can no longer change hands this week ... Novak loses his 2011 Basel SF points and so Roger has done enough stay ahead even if he loses tomorrow to Mathieu in the SF.
It will really be on next week as Novak's fate is in his hands at PMS. If he wins the tournament, he is #1 no matter what.

I just realized there is a stagger in effect for the rest of the season.
So there are now two Basels on the rankings this week. So for Paris, Basel 2011 falls off. So ...
Fed and Djokovic begin the week with about 200 points separating them deducting their Basel points. Then ... does it replace the PMS spot no matter what or will two PMS tournaments be on the rankings next week?

Checked the "Emirates ATP Rankings" today to check up on Donald Young. He is currently ranked 160 with 25 tournaments -- about 50 spots below Rajeev Ram with the same # of events played, and about 120 below his famous CHR. By some freaky kind of magic, he is still only 23 years old.
