Marissa has gone back to Stanford to get her degree in Political Science, and has ended her professional tennis career. Sigh... Oh well, I can't say I didn't expect it. When I saw her playing in California this past summer, she looked like she absolutely hated being out there. It doesn't help your motivation when one's mother is yelling at you on court for the entire match. I still feel like she was probably one of the biggest wastes of talent on tour. Good luck to Marissa in whatever she does with her life.

God, Mervin's mother suuuuuuuuuuucked. I hope this retirement is purely to spite her. That would earn Mervin my utmost respect.

Where did you see her?
I met her in California, and then watched the match with her, and she really is insane. I had seen her antics in New Haven in previous years, also.

I guess it had to have been at Key Biscayne.

She's had some good results there, and some horrible ones.

Since Andrew posted this, there's good chance it's lies...
Shame if Marissa really quit, though. Had lots of talent.

Why since I posted it?
As I said, if you've seen her play recently, it hardly comes as a suprise.

I think Marissa graduated this month. We wish her lots of success and happiness. I miss her though.
