Willow, ask Vera if she's ever considered working with a sports psychologist. The right person could help her get back to the top 10 where she belongs. I saw Vera dismantle Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova on tape at the 2004 Canadian Open and thought she was going onto doing some big things in tennis. But that powerful and confident player dissappeared and hasn't been seen since.

If that freak Jordan could get to talk to her, you should have no problem.

Latest from Bepa's "diary", as posted on RR:
Hi everyone. My last entry in the diary was some weeks ago. Each time I’m waited next roentgenograms and next visits to the doctor. One week ago I have a roentgenogram again and as result all was normally. But to play tennis now is very early and in 10 days I hope I will begin trainings slowly – 10-15 shoots during the day. The main thing that I didn’t hurry up to not get the repeated injury. So it all that I can tell you about my wrist. I have forgotten to say that now I‘m in Tampa (in Florida) where I train in off season period. I arrived 5 days ago and here is very hot. And I can’t in the afternoon to go to the outside. And also here it is very damp Aaa I forgotten it also… I was in St-Petersburg (Russia). I dreamed to visit to this city very long, but there are not woman tournaments, and I haven’t time to visit here early. About 3 weeks ago at last I was here. It’s very nice place. My brother and the aunt live here. So it was excellent! My brother is the video-operator and he has taken me from to shootings of a clip Still I have seen the white nights and a raised bridges. Yes, and the Chizhik-Pyzhik (symbol of St-Petersburg)
I heard that Shamil Tarpischev had a problem with the American visa. It is so pleasant. But now is all right and I wish to ALL RUSSIAN TEAM GOOD LUCK! I shall to be a fan of our girls! Bye, See you soon

What's with the header pictures on Bepa's website being so ridiculously photoshopped? Her face looks like a fake plastic doll's in each one. I hope it isn't the work of some overexcited middle-aged webmaster

J'ai hâte de remettre la machine en route, d'être sur le court avec Vera" www.welovetennis.fr/blog-sam-sumyk/11499-sam-rend-visite-a-wlt-gcjanie trans: There are still (!) conflicting opinions about Bepa's ankle, they are calling in some fancypants dr. (why not till now??), they know it's ligament damage but will see what the fancypants dr. recommends. Meanwhile Bepa has started rehab but her participation in RG is up in the air. She'll come back when she's ready. Bepa frustrated because this was the best start to a season she ever had. BETTER TRANSLATION SKILLS WELCOME ...

Kindest greetings to all! It happened that in the spring I was injured and have not played for a long time since then… I was trying to recover and did all my best in order to get my leg to normal. I had to deal with it twenty-four hours a day! I wanted so much to play at Roland Garros, but in vain… Eventually, I had completely recovered only by Wimbledon and played several matches there. I had to try to make loading to my leg and see how it would feel in play, but, unfortunately, in the end I had to give up my attempts because of intense pain. Now I am in Moscow at rehabilitation. Generally, the things are going well and I hope for the best! What are my further plans? I’ll go to the tournament in Istanbul, I’ll play some matches, I’ll see condition of my leg. Most likely, I’ll go to Turkey a bit earlier to have time for training.

Zvonareva headed for surgery
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -- Ninth-ranked Vera Zvonareva's agent says she will have arthroscopic surgery on her right ankle.
The operation is to remove scar tissue and is scheduled for Wednesday.
Zvonareva plans to stay in the Netherlands for two weeks of rehabilitation and is expected to be able to return to a tennis court in four to five weeks, her agent, Ben Crandell, said via e-mail.
The Russian pulled out of the season-ending WTA tour championships after playing one match.
She was a semifinalist at the Australian Open in January and won two hard-court tournaments in 2009.
