Patty losing to Dellacqua is most hilarious.
You know, if ever Casey could beat Amelie ...
Mauresmo just does NOT look good at all right now. She will PROBABLY beat a fatigued Dellacqua, but she's really playing like shit so far. Jankovic-Razzano should blow her away.
Does Vika Azarenka have a shot against Serena? I think she does.
Vesnina in the third round is amusing ...

Rainer Schuttler lost pathetically to Simon. I cry inside.
Rezai up a break, 3-2 on Golovin.
Hey, hey, Jessica Moore won a game!

Rezai does it, sending Golovin packing 6-3 3-6 6-3.
Dementieva seems in control now, up 3-0 in the third.

Wow, caught a bit of the final game. WTF was up with Tati's backhand?! She's a mess.
I hate Demented.

I love Elena, keep plugging away girl.
My god, Tati.
I was stupid enough to bet lots of vcash on Schuettler in that one. Simon hasn't done much of note recently, and Rainer just beat a Frenchie, and this is his tournament, but no... I also bets lots on Robredo, also dumb. Tsonga was my savior today, and also Misha.

You know, one day I think I'll look up stats on Davydenko and all his runs to GS QFs and SFs since 2005. His set win-loss ratio is amazing. He is so good at winning 3-setters in the early rounds. Just unbelievable. And he never gets any credit for it. Even the usually fair and reasonable commentator Darren Cahill said Roddick is the "true" #4 based on ability and #5 is up in the air... huh? Davydenko is clearly a top 5 player based on Slam results alone, and it is Slams that matter.

Elena holds at love for 4-3, after losing 3 straight games. Just one wacky tennis match going on there. I bet it's full of fun rallies and has a great atmosphere. Since her fall from grace, Elena keeps getting relegated to smaller and smaller courts at the Slams. But when I saw her play on the first Monday at the last US Open, she had the court packed all around, and I had to stand on top of the top bleacher for the Poutchek/Camerin match to see over all the heads.

Elena closed it out as quickly as she let AMG back in it. 5-7 6-2 6-3. Good for her, I kinda wondered if she was done after losing that first set.

It scares me that Elena can beat Ana (albeit in an exho), and then lose to Arvidsson and almost lose to AMG. I made a stand and said she'd end this year Top 8 again, but who knows.

Oh boy I'm nervous. This is the first time I've been super super geared up for a ladies Grand Slam match since US Open 2006 QF. I just don't want Lidnsay to get a one-sided whooping.

Bammer is getting completely trashed by Su-Wei Hseih, 6-2 3-0 and ... Bammer just saved breakpoint. This would be a hefty upset for Su-Wei.
As for Dementieva, even with getting hurt, she still managed to finish at #11, so another top eight year is very possible.

Even the usually fair and reasonable commentator Darren Cahill said Roddick is the "true" #4 based on ability and #5 is up in the air... huh? That...is really, really annoying. If I'd been in front of the TV, expletives would have been hurled at him, and possible pompous emails correcting him. Kolya does have a ton of terrible losses outside of Slams, but at Slams he's nailz. He got one of the nastiest first rounders of all the seeds - half the other seeds would have lost to Llodra - and he dealt with it without any drama. So many people assumed he'd be a one-season wonder, but this is his third year in the elite (during which time, I would remind Cahill, it was Roddick who dropped out of the top 10, while Kolya has remained solidly in the top 5). Batty I knew Caravane would win. Happy for her, though no amount of rolleyes will ever do justice to Tati. There is no way to say the name "Nieminen" without sounding like a robot, right? hey, Hsieh is a set and 3-0 up on Bammer! This'd be huge for her, go Su-Wei!

Some odd quotes from Baghdatis:
'm ready but I need some confidence in my game," he said.
"I need to win some matches to find the momentum. That's why I'm happy I won today.
"If I play another one or two matches here I'll be ready 100% for the tournament."
Hey Marcos. I think it would be a good idea to get ready for the tournament prior to halfway through it, don't you?

Oh yes. That was the last time she played Miami. She always hated the court speed, wind, and the fact that she got injured there. Congrats Marion, you will forever be her South Floridian vanquisher.

Sad roar. Well, I hope she doesn't let this take the wind out of her comeback, but that's quite a thumping. That match wasn't much more than an hour, and I don't think Lindsay ever broke her?

That was very reminiscent of her loss to Venus Williams, 2-6, 1-6, 2002 San Diego after her last really big layoff.
She improved in the 2nd set on her serve and off the ground, but too much young gun power. Lindsay not quite ready for the elite. And unfortunately for her, I think the only way to get there soon is to step up her schedule and play more events.
