Major choking commenced in the 5-1 game, it just hasn't stopped yet.

Fed played a few good forehands but that was all, and it wasn't enough.
Tsonga vs. Djoko, why not? It's always nice when two debutants meet in the final.

The post on this nose ring is slightly bigger than what I'm used to. Jesus, did it ever hurt putting that bitch in! Grrr.
I take my nose stud out during the week. This usually isn't a problem.

When Djokovic's oldest of the younger brothers is done with puberty .... eh, never mind. I'm not going to finish that thought.

Ew. There are teeny boppers holding signs that read: "Novak's bringing sexy back!" Somebody, please, beat them up on their way out of the stadium.
This reminds me of the time I was at the US Open YEARS ago and there were these guys with signs that read "Daniela's fellas!"

That was an ill advised attempt at a drop shot. Peon.

There has already been quite a lot of perving about him on here. On this board?? I know they have been perving over him on MTF for a while... which is really, really wrong. I mean, he's only starting to resemble an adult. It wasn't even remotely OK to comment on this until I noticed it ;D

Yes on THIS very board, which is still way above MTF in every other department.

Yes on THIS very board, which is still way above MTF in every other department. Yeah, I just found it. At least we waited until 2008 to notice. I'm pretty sure that MTF took note back in 2006.

Federer is no quitter, that's for sure. He's making Djoko fight for it.
He's serving better now also, which is probably the only way he could somehow win this.

Like his countrywoman Ana, Djoko serves his way out of trouble to save two set-points and reach the tie-break.

Somehow, it's not annoying when the player I'm rooting for serves their way out of trouble.

Fed hits a phenomenal backhand to go up 3-1, then shanks two routine forehands.

This has been a remarkably un-Fed-like performance, for sure. He's just been... flat. Or something. For the most part. Yet he still refuses to wilt. Damn you, Pete!

Congrats!
Djoko wasn't even outstanding. He played very well, and since his basic playing level is already very close to Fed's, that is more than enough against most opponents, and certainly against a sub-par Fed.
I pick Djoko for the title, but I could be wrong, as usual.

I like that he takes time during his interviews to remind us of how wonderful he is. Just in case we hadn't noticed that he was kind of a Big Deal and what not. In fact, his arrogance might be 95% of the reason that I find him attractive. Finally! I've figured out what allows me to overlook his oddly shaped head.
A slam final without Fed will seem so.... naked. The Australian Open is BROKEN.

When Djokovic's oldest of the younger brothers is done with puberty .... eh, never mind. I'm not going to finish that thought. We did him two days ago. Well, not DID did sadly what am I saying, this is still future tense, but only by a year or so. Agh. Anyway I got into the office at 5-5 in the TB, what a terrific win for Nole. I'd predicted it but I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so straightforward. Fed did look flat; similar to how he looks against Nadal on clay.

NOVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK. Hell of a match. I had a feeling he could do it. Dominated from 3-5 first set.
He might pull a Federer and win the AO without dropping a set. If he does, then Federer/Nadal/Djokovic establish themselves as the best triumverate/triad of power the sport has ever seen at one time.

I just got home from work. I'm supposed to go out for dinner in 2.5 hours but will put that off if this is still going on then. This is the only time all week that my work schedule and the Aussie schedule have agreed with one another. And what a time for them to coincide! Djokovic... he has a funny shaped head and his eyes are probably too close together (as a result of the oddly shaped head). Yet, I still find him attractive. This perplexes me. Sexy people usually have some flaw or something that stands out. His head is a little long, but not dramatically funny looking. The rest of his appearance more than makes up for it.

I pick Djoko for the title, but I could be wrong, as usual. You're wrong. That was outstanding. Djokovic played at a much higher level than he did in Canada and New York vs. Fed. Even if Roger was flat, Novak did well to anticipate and read everything and to capitalize on the short shit. Best of all was his serving. I've never seen him serve so well under pressure in such a big match. Whenever he needed an ace or service winner to make up for a dumb choking drop shot, BAM! My fave part about Djok is his tiebreak record. Absolutely phenomenal for a 20 year old, or for anyone ever. That's the sign of a champion in the making. So yeah, ummmm, Ferrero's not so much better, I think?

I'm also fascinated by his...non-hairstyle. It's, like, negatively styled. It's just there. But he keeps it short so it's all good. The serving, yes, that was key; but it also felt like Fed just couldn't attack anything, partly because Nole's defending was so good, partly because he really excelled in the neutral rallies, keeping the ball so deep.
