I got that, as well as most of the other information I put in here, from www.fsuniverse.net .... it's sort of the wtaworld of figure skating boards, but not quite as big or retarded You can't read it if you aren't registered, so I'm happy to transfer useful information over here, so long as it's stuff they just ripped from other sites

Thanks, I'll check it out Since I know nothing about figure skating beyond the bad fashion it might not be worth registering. Anything's better than WTAW tho. By a country mile.

It seems that Irina Slutskaya is the first top woman to try the pants costume, which the ISU just started to allow this year. There are pictures of her in pants on Getty - it actually looks really fantastic! A nice choice for her

I missed most of the coverage on Christmas Day. Damn it, learn to use a VCR! The only thing I saw was the end of Slutskaya's apparently impressive short routine and some of Plushenko (I bet I spelled that wrong) - the commentators were going gaga over him.

Were they showing the Grand Prix Final? Buttle came second ;D
I didn't get to see it yet. The commentators tend to go Gaga over Plushy. He's super duper, but meh. I don't "feel" him for some reason. Maybe because he has a mullet.

The Grand Prix Final was on tonight. I was able to see my beautiful Russians but I missed Joubert! I was pissed. But I guess 2/3 ain't bad...

They probably didn't show Joubert, since he only came in fifth. His programs this season are just too suck

I was called into another room while the first guy was still skating, and by the time I got back Joubert was receiving his scores. Booo!

Booo! Damn I guess I would have been mildly surprised afterall if they chucked him from the program, seeing as all the 12 year old girls and me like him ;D

They showed 4 or 5 competitors for each discipline. ESPN's coverage is actually pretty good, if only incredibly tape-delayed. I guess I'll have to tape the coverage of worlds to see him... Sergei Slavnov is taller than I thought he'd be. Apparently he and his partner have "great potential" Unfortunately the commentating isn't all that great.

I don't follow pairs. They scares me :red: Too many freaky lifts! ESPN is showing the GPF sooner than we will be getting it in Canada. I get it in a week

I usually enjoy the coverage that we get from ESPN, when I actually see it. More skating for us on New Year's and then later in the week.

Joubert... they actually did hack his program, Hackie. You didn't miss it. They only showed his marks. 12 year old girls everywhere were very distressed. As were a few people on FSU who wanted to mock him out! They might show him on the next broadcast they FSU people seemed to think, since apparently more time is allotted

How weird. Yeah, this time they're showing it over what appears to be a whole day. Why are they showing it again in the first place is my question

I'm seriously debating going to the Canadians Nationals.... on one hand it's bad idea, because I only really like Buttle. On the other hand, maybe I'll find new skaters to like. ;D

They just showed Joubert here on the CBC. Acccckkkkkkk! He didn't land a single jump cleanly I knew that he hadn't done well, but damn. That was worse than expected. He looked really dissapointed in his close up... but at least they gave him a close up ;D I don't like Buttle's short program as much as his long program, which is wicked. Sandhu.... I try to like him, but eh. I've seen him do exhibitions and he can be a fantastic performer, but when he's competing.... my commentators were right when they said he's too bloody cautious.

Joubert's long program started out alright, but it didn't end very well. Still, the program itself has gotten better than it was a couple months ago when I first saw it. If he could just land his jumps he'd be able to compete with that.

Hackie's favourite couple is engaged ;D I like the pair, to a certain level. But, somehow I'm not optimistic about their relationship

Why not? It's lasted travelling the world and being together pretty much 24 hours a day

Why not? It's lasted travelling the world and being together pretty much 24 hours a day That's my gut feeling. And being with each other 24/7 and all over the world, somehow, do more damage than good on their relationship in a long run. I don't think they're really well suited with each other and thus, the above sentence. If they are perfect for each other, the very close working relationship wouldn't be a problem but I feel that's not the case here.

Erm.... okay. I'm not going to touch that.
Sandhu flopped to and fro in his long program. Buttle fell, but it didn't matter. He received his highest mark in the long program all season despite that. The rest of it is just that good.
Can we fast forward a year and a half and retire Plushy so that mens skating can actually be interesting?
