When I watch an NBA game, I am often struck by the thought that I would probably not enjoy taking a charge. So maybe I should re-think my future in the NBA, because I might be asked on occasion to do that For the Team.

But think of the money, Janie! And the sleazy hos at your beck and call! That's an excellent point ... I guess I could handle the odd giant bruise, sprain, head wound, and and dislocated/broken joints, for a chance at those friendly hos! :satan: My Sixers bit the dust, but I still love them. :lust: Fortunately I am also a lesser fan of most of the remaining teams, except Boston, and my 2nd fave team, Spurs, is still in. I hope there are some hoops fans on this board!

No, I am definitely more Earl Boykins than Yao Ming. But no one's asking those 7-footers to take a charge anyway; they've got other work to do at the defensive end; it's us little people who always have to do the dirty work.

I know this is ridiculous, but I'm reading Phil Jackson's book "The Last Season". It's great fun to read about the downfall of those odious Lakers! Fortunately I got it from the library, because I wouldn't want to pay anything to read about Kobe's childish outbursts, but reading it for free is a great guilty pleasure that I wouldn't have wanted to miss. I also enjoyed PJ's prophetic words from Nov. 03, after a loss to the Pistons: "The Pistons aren't a very good team." Then he said his team's bad play in that game "made Chauncey Billups look like an All-Star." Nice dig at CB the lowly journeyman, Phil! I expect CB must have enjoyed reading that line in the light reflected from his Finals MVP trophy!

If the Spurs finish off a worthy adversary like Denver in 4, I am feeling very good about my little wager for the Spurs to win it all. Woohoo.
Condolences to the City of Brotherly Love.
/me is enjoying the Dallas-Houston series, woohoo

Not exactly going out on a limb with that pick, were you? /me is enjoying the Dallas-Houston series, woohoo I liked it at first, but not any more. Washington is off to a good start over dabuls tonight. Too bad dabuls lost 2 of their starters before the playoffs. I like that team (surprise, surprise!) ;D But Washington is darned good. thx for the condolences. At least we got one game! The Pistons are still as awesome as they were last year. And Iverson, at least, put up a good fight. :lust:

Not exactly going out on a limb with that pick, were you? It was a tossup between the Spurs and the Bulls. This kid out of North Carolina who Chicago has, Jordan, I think, looks like he might be good!

Well, they did have a good start. And a horrific final quarter. Lucky Arenas is MONEY!! That was a classic final shot. How 'bout that!! DC is abuzz! I'm going to try to go to the next series! I'll buy tickets with VCASH

The last time I cared about the NBA, it was the heyday of such luminaries as Danny Ainge and Harold Miner. Isn't Ainge coaching or something?

Ainge is currently the Celtics "Director of Basketball Operations". Your Wizards are SOOOO good! Arenas! ex-Sixer Hughes! This team was very underrated during the season by the network cretins who decide what teams get to be on national tv. Like we really needed to see those LA Loser clowns extend their pathetic (if hilarious) season-ending losing streak by yet another game. But what else should we expect -- these are the same geniuses who think airing a Williams sister 62 61 match on tape is way better than letting anyone get a live glimpse of the likes of the Belgians, even when said Belgians were ranked #1 and 2. grrrrrr

You only think that because you haven't read Phil Jackson's book. Did you know that it was the REFS who caused the Lakers to lose the Finals last year?
