Now he's just one back. I am so pissed that I almost started to believe this would possibly not happen. It's the ultimate SPORTS NIGHTMARE ON JANIE STREET!

Orlando gets the outright lead, then tanks his ball right into the stands. That's the Mr. Ivanovic I remember!

@sportspickle SportsPickle Sad story about Charl Schwartzel's birth. His mother died while trying to write "Charles" on his birth certificate.

Another rando South African with an unpronounceable name wins a major. Pretty soon golf will be as palatable to advertisers as tennis is!

Well, I liked the end. I liked the winner's sh!t-eating grin in the hallowed Butler Cabin. Mr. Mickelson looks awfully old, though. The Japanese kid is from that very section of Japan that is now gone.

Adam Scott plays well and still loses. Why can't a handsome white player win. Ever.

Gee, Tiger's famous charge died a bit too soon. Although, if he had had a better Saturday it probably would not have mattered.

I'm sadly consistent, too: every year for six years, whining and whining that I'm positive the loathesome Tigre will win. And he didn't win any of them since this thread started.
Can't believe that Tigre SPIT on one of the sacred hallowed greens this year. Of course CBS was too afraid to mention it.

The cruel thing is that people are starting to warm up to Tigre because he never wins, and they just want to see his usual charges again. UGH.

That's only because their hate was sadly shallow, and scandal-based. They were, in fact, Tigre-hate bandwagonners! But I enjoyed having them aboard, while it lasted. I also don't mind the recent Tigre "charges", as long as they keep petering out when it matters, as they've been doing. Because the petering out part is everything. A charge that peters out before the end is like a player winning one set against Serena: it's NUTHIN'.

Ahem. Why is Tiger loathesome?
Janie, I also saw Tiger shout FUCK! when he missed a putt. It was captured on camera. And no, CBS did not dare mention it.

Not many people view him as loathesome. The reason I'm one of them is that he is a huge phony and an unbelievably arrogant, rude, petulant asshole. How many other 35-year-old golfers do you see out there cursing loudly and spitting on greens when things aren't going their way? (I hate Jimmy Connors, too!)
But this is what you get when you raise your child to believe he's the Second Coming.
I did like Tiger when he was a young kid coming up, but turned against him very early in his much-worshipped pro career, when his inner asshole started to show through the plastic exterior.

That's not very consistent. Once you like something, you have to like it FOREVER, even though one learns things which weren't initially apparent ALL THE TIME IN REAL LIFE. FOR EVER.

He does seem to be those things. I guess I don't watch golf enough to really be annoyed by it. Sometimes I wonder whether it is too easy to criticize pro athletes for being "phony". I'm pretty sure I wouldn't wear my heart on my sleeve if I were famous. Tiger might be annoying but he seems to me still 100% better than the Williams sisters. At least he plays and seems to care.

That's how I've always felt. If Serena could just care half as much as Tiger does, she'd probably be my favorite player ever.

I'm excited! If Augusta wasn't 2.5 hours out of the way, I might have driven out there tomorrow for pre-major festivities. Alas, I have to meet friends tomorrow. BOO.
I took Monday off too, and plan on watching all 830830 hours on Saturday and Sunday when I am back home.

I was wondering if your road trip took you anywhere near Augusta, but was too lazy to look at a road map. The media is already going gaga over Tiger, which I realize they should, since he's the pole that holds up the whole pro-golf tent. Can't believe we've been hatin' on the Masters here for 6 years now. And I'm still hatin' on Tiger just as much as I did at the start.
