I of course understand the hype about Tigre, but I am not quite sure why everyone and their mother are picking him to win. It's possible, but I will definitely pick the field instead.

Also, in the 6 years of this thread, Tigre has NEVER WON

I of course understand the hype about Tigre, but I am not quite sure why everyone and their mother are picking him to win. It's possible, but I will definitely pick the field instead. Me, either. He's not very good anymore. But, it improves the odds for others, so I'll take it.

What a fantastic livestream from Masters.com! If only tennis could catch up with this. I've got my laptop connected to my tv and the picture is not at all blurry, unlike most tennis feeds. I admit I'm not really watching the action on "hallowed" Amen Corner, but I plan to use the soporific sights and sounds of a typical golf broadcast to get a good nap.

The Masters has had a great online feed for years. Of course, it's wasted on this.

I'm glad I didn't see that huge 18th-hole choke by the Swedish guy who had led all day. Nothing like a quadruple bogey to ruin a good day on the course. Poor guy! At least it's not Sunday, with the entire world watching.

What a wild day for Phil! Manages to end up at +2, but I don't know how. He's so fun to watch on days like this with terrible tee shots, bogeys, followed by improbable birdies. I sure hope he won't miss the cut because his golf is so entertaining to behold.

As always, I hope Hefty goes away.

Yeah, I know you guys don't like him. And he still might miss the cut. Sadly, the word "Hefty" describes quite a lot of the players I saw yesterday. There were enough spare tires out there to set up a little Nascar race.

I hate when the leaders just hang on instead of making birdies and widening their lead. Of course, I don't think anyone on Earth expects Lee Westwood to charge through to a green jacket, but you'd think SOMEBODY among the morning starters would have made a bigger move.

Fred Couples is up there! I'm watching just Amen Corner again, so when they show the leaderboard there are surprises. Like Freddy being just 1 back. I got to see the 54-year-old amateur hit a shot. He might not even come in last, which is very cool.

It's too bad we all know that the old guys can never play 4 terrific rounds. I guess it's good that the old guys themselves don't realize that. I'd like to believe right along with them that they can win, but a couple of decades of rooting for various golf geezers, starting with Ray Floyd in 1990 (at age 48, lost in a playoff and broke my heart ) has forced me to face the truth.

Everyone is stinking up the joint! Every single shot they've showed since CBS came on has been a bad one. Anyway I'm rooting for O'Hair, because he's from around here.

Leena and Hurley have probably turned the tv off. But I wonder whether Phil can keep this up with his osteoporosis and all.

I of course will watch the whole thing. But we all know everyone else is going to just up and DIE tomorrow if Phil is leading.
Besides Phil is on some drugs for his bones, maybe Bovina For Men. I see those commercials.

I forgot all about his arthritis. I just like the way he plays on this course. He's looking pretty fit these days, too. For a few moments the other day I actually found myself feeling a little bit attracted to him for the first time ever.

One of my friends called him "sort of attractive" in Charleston. "He has kind of a Hugh Grant thing going on there." I buried her in a watery grave in the harbor; she'll never be found.

When the announcers use every superlative to speak of Hefty as the greatest guy ever. Mute helps.

I never once heard them say greatest guy ever. You must have different announcers where you are. Anyway, who cares; it's only Saturday. Tons of guys (but not Freddy, unfortunately) have chances tomorrow, not least the guy who's leading now, and who happens to not be Phil.

Hefty gives a fan a high five = HE CARES ABOUT ALL HIS FANS. HE ALWAYS GIVES BACK. PEOPLE'S CHAMPION. EVERYONE LOVES PHILLLLL BLAHBLAHAHAHAHA
Hefty has a family = HE IS SUCH A GREAT DAD. HE'S SO AMERICAN. UNLIKE EVERY OTHER PLAYER THAT HAS KIDS BECAUSE THEY DON'T MATTER.
Hefty hits a flop shot = NOBODY IN THE WORLD WOULD EVEN CONSIDER HITTING A SHOT LIKE THAT. PHIL IS THE GREATEST SHORT GAME PLAYER EVER. EVEN THOUGH MOST PLAYERS CAN, BUT CHOOSE TO DO SO INTELLIGENTLY.
Etc... etc... even Tigre back in the day didn't get those superlatives. Just because he's a surly dick.
