I'm pretty miserly, too, but I'm not Jewish or part-Jewish. I secretly wish I were, but I'm not. I'm rooting for Na. I'd forgotten golf has a Na! But any no-name winner would be great. I'd love to root for a geezer again, but the way they finish is too painful. Never again.

How is it that the bunker sand is pure white? I wonder if they dye it.

I assume everything is fake there. I hate this tournament. I hate the media. Tiger is right where he wants to be! Shut up.

I know. It really is so horrible. This year for the first time I am enjoying how sickening it all is and how everyone -- tv commentators, players, fans, outside media -- joins right in and eagerly takes part in the act. It's so much like the story of the Emperor's new clothes. All the while I'm perversely waiting for that player who will make fun of this place and these people. Or for one commentator to dare to say, Jack Nicklaus is a jerk, though it would cost him his job. I just won't watch while St. Tiger is playing. I wish he was right where I want him to be, 20 off the lead.

cut stuff: Augusta National Chairman Billy Payne announced Wednesday that the number of players who will make the Masters’ 36-hole cut has been increased to 50 (plus any player within 10 strokes of the lead), up from 44 (plus those within 10 strokes). The cut had included the low 44 players since 1962 and had been at 40 players plus ties since the cut was instituted in 1957. “More than 50 years later, we believe offering more playing opportunities for the participants over the weekend is a positive for everyone,†said Payne. Sergio Garcia, so predictable And Tigre just one back now. Yes, my friends, the past is back! Bring on Henin and Sampras!

Scratch that "one back"; naturally, Tigre now has a share of the lead. Oh for the lost joys of 2010-12!

Correct. Still getting to actually see him play through the SHAME of it all will make it worth it. You just know it's going to be F-Bomb Central.

But what if he wins? He doesn't have that much to make up, even with the penalty. And you know what SEWTA chokers most not-Tigre golfers are.
But if he does win, GOLF and THE HOLY MASTERS will be TAINTED 4EVA!11!!!! Like I care, but still.
Apparently Faldo said Tiger should w/d? After all he confessed what he did to the tv cameras after the round, so it's not like he was ignorant of his cheating crime.

Moving on, let's make fun of Sergio now AUGUSTA, Ga. – This might be a sign that you’ve come totally unglued as a golfer: You are convinced that even the wind is out to get you.
There was Sergio Garcia, standing in front of the clubhouse at Augusta National after the second round, explaining in great detail how it was only blowing when he was taking his shot.
Straight faced.
Dead serious.
“It was almost dead calm when Angel (Cabrera) and Adam (Scott) were hitting,†Garcia said, describing how his approach on the par-5 15th hole found the water. “I hit mine, I hit what I thought was a perfect shot to the middle of the green and caught a huge gust.â€
And, just in case you think this was an isolated incident of the vast wind conspiracy, Garcia cited another example – only this time the wind abruptly stopped just as he finished his swing. Honestly, if you didn’t know better, you’d think it was totally random.
“The tee shot on 13, I thought it was great,†Garcia said. “The wind hit both of their balls and it didn’t hit my ball. It hits the trees and goes in the water, and I end up making 6.â€
The wind blew off repeated requests for an interview.

Guan said a similar thing about the wind which led to his penalty. He said he would get ready to hit and then it would kick up again, so he had to keep backing off.
Now, he didn't say it was ONLY during those times. So Sergio wins. As usual!

This sets a really bad precedence for golf. If it was anyone but Tigre, well maybe Hefty, that's an immediate DQ for a purposely wrong scorecard.

Three holes in a row, I've watched Phil dump his ball in the water. This is sad for me as a fan, but at the same time it's been so astonishing that I had to go make myself a large bowl of buttered popcorn for the show.
Hard to grasp how these guys can keep their composure at times like this. But you've got to hand it to Phil; he's not f-bombing or throwing clubs like Tiger, but just subdued, keeping on. Now I only hope he won't end up dead last, but even if he does, what does it matter. Just a very bad year for him here, might as well make it the worst ever.

Hefty can put on his fake smile with the best of them.
Too bad Tigre never learned how to do that.

Still, better for kids to see a fake smile than to see a grownup throwing clubs around like a toddler in a tantrum. I agree with you about the bad precedent; I didn't see your post before. CBS and the Masters official said that "Tiger didn't know he broke the rule." Huh? How many decades has the man been playing, and he thinks it's in the rules to drop your ball ~5 feet away from where it was before, in order to get a better lie, as long as you try to take an equal amount of length off your drive? It was so embarrassing to watch the CBS guy stating pointblank as a fact that "TIGER IS INNOCENT". I don't really care, though, unless he actually wins. At least they did give him the 2-stroke penalty.

At least Feherty was truthful today, he says to the people complaining that Tigre should have been DQ'd... look at the galleries! He should have mentioned ratings, as well.
Unbiased golf people (which you won't find any currently affiliated on the tour since Tigre makes them millions) are up in arms about this, btw.

I noticed that. Retired players, for example, coming out of the woodwork to say Woods should have withdrawn since he admitted the rules violation. Never thought about it before, but how odd that he's never called just "Woods". From now on I'm going to call him Woods. And such a shame that Woods is so close to the top of the leaderboard.

The story behind him getting the nickname Tiger is a weird one, too. The mother named him Eldrick, and Earl ignored that at birth and called him Tiger because of one of his war buddies, supposedly. Ended up being a perfect marketing tool.
I've love to hear the true story about how Earl and Tiger really were, because I'm guessing it's messed up. But, we shall never know because they'll be praised for eternity.

It would be absolutely fabulous if Angel would end up winning, yeah. What I love is this livestream option, especially when I stream it to my tv. Why did I never realize in previous years that you can watch the Masters and never have to set eyes on Woods It's true that I quickly discovered that I don't enjoy watching the same 2 holes over and over as different players pass through, but the two "featured group" options are really fun. How else would I have had the chance to enjoy that hilarity, live, of hapless Phil hitting into the water on 3 holes in a row? I think the Earl-Tiger story is one that is better left veiled for all time. It's hard to believe, but that goofy Richard Williams actually raised better-adjusted people than Earl did. I'm not saying that Serena is a model adult, obviously, but when compared to Tiger she is almost a normal person. But you get the feeling that the mother had no say in Tiger's upbringing, whereas Oracene was definitely very involved with her kids, probably offsetting some of Richard's stranger edges.

This final round is boring me. I don't care who wins. And I know BAG's BF won't.
