Vijay was still good until about 2008. He is a geezer now, at 48. I've always liked him. Works hard, comes across a mean old jerk, hates Tigre and Hefty. So, the Annika comment was maybe too mean, but he was pretty much right. Oh, okay. I had no idea he was that old; that explains it. And I'm glad he had more than one really good year. I liked him, too; who comes from FIJI?? Tennis could really use a cranky Fijian who hates certain ones of the top players but can sometimes beat them.

Already at 11:30 AM, there are 13 guys with scores that would have missed the cut yesterday, including 3 guys who are now at +11.

Good, we need something challenging after the US Open (golf).

Oh good, I finally get to see this Nick Watney person, who is somehow in the Top Ten of the world.
Or at least constant shots of his back.

Two years ago: Actively watching golf features a good mix of vicarious living and schadenfreude. As a tennis fan, you should be familiar with that combo. Mostly with the schadenfreude, which is all that is left now. Cycling I watched for the rolling landscapes. I never actually cared about who won. Golf I just can't see a reason why I'd ever watch it. There are so many other less boring ways of being a ponce.

The television is telling me that this handsome person I've never heard of, currently leading by 3, has finished 7th at both the British and the USO in 2010. Okay then. This would be Nick Watney, who was our third-round leader 52 weeks ago. Apparently I cheered for him. Huh.

Verne Lundquist is the Enberg of golf...when Enberg is not calling golf I guess.
Adam Scott won "last year." Oh.
Graeme McDowell, +12, "failed to miss the cut." Oh.

That's bad, but I see worse than that in print all the time, even in articles on respected sites.

I really don't need the return of ~p --> q, where p = Tigre and q = Manboobs McGee. Please stop.

Thankfully, Hefty is not a factor.
But, these undecipherable USians in hats are pretty boring. And this Dufner really needs to go away.

I can't believe there is actually someone named Scott Piercy. They make these people up. You know they do.

Did Jim Furyk ever win anything or have I just watched him finish 7th for the last 47 years?

Other than the 03 USO which is forgotten because it was played on the 3rd backup course in Chicago, Furyk is always the "steady guy that could always win important tournaments but never does".

Yeah, ok. So he does have one Slam.
Is Mickelson done? The arthritis is too much, maybe?
It's Scott Piercy's time now, anyway.

Yeah, I would be okay with Furyk because he's actually been a quality, highly-ranked player for a number of years now.
It's unfortunate that he doesn't know how to pronounce his own name and looks like a buzzard, though.

I'm glad he looks like a buzzard. At least he's recognizable. I never once have had to think, who the hell is that?

Duffman is a fat slob that chews tobacco while he plays. I thought it couldn't get worse than Cabrera.

I predicted Duffman last night, and it looks like I'm going to be right. There is something to be said for his placidity, undoubtedly brought on by tons of pot and Cheetos.

It actually might get really exciting. Duffman and Bradley tied at -9, with SWE one shot back and DEN two shots back, heading into the hellish last four holes. I thought Duffman was going to hold everyone else off, but now I'll bet this goes to a playoff.
