Savchuk had setpoint and was serving for the set! Now she's down matchpoint!! This is awful! I wanted a barnburner!

Wow, Pin-Pin! She's really not nearly as bad as WTA World made her out to be. Serbian TV boycotting Tipsarevic for some reason although his match is played on a show court.

According to Eggy, Maria is apparently suffering from "heat stroke".

Oh man, I would LOVE to see Sharapova lose a third set to Camee Pan on ESPN2. Yes, this must occur. Bammer's 2nd set lead is gone against the Chak. Yulia loses, 2 and 3 to Laura. DIsappointing. Savchuk downed by Mirza 3 and 5.

Why does Camee bother with a serve motion. Just hit a forehand if you're not going to try.

The good news: Maria will not win the title playing like this. The bad news: that means Kim will.

Sucking in the early rounds means nothing when the 2nd week comes.
Shahar will win this title. I believe.

A little. But, it's still a joke that a player with her shotmaking "abilities" has direct entry into slams.

www.australianopen.com/en_AU/news/articles/2007-01-16/200701151168826627468.html EHP in place on Day Two by Bren O'Brien Tuesday, 16 January, 2007 The Australian Open's Extreme Heat Policy (EHP) has been implemented for the first time at Australian Open 2007 as the temperature soars on Day Two at Melbourne Park. The roof on Vodafone Arena has been shut ahead of the match between Chris Guccione and Olivier Rochus, while the match between women's No.2 Maria Sharapova and Camille Pin, will continue under an open roof on Rod Laver Arena. The next match on Rod Laver Arena between men's No.2 seed Rafael Nadal and American Robert Kendrick, will be played under a closed roof. Under the Policy, no new matches will commence on outside courts, but those already in progress will continue to their conclusion. There is provision to make breaks between games and sets longer than usual in these matches. Organisers employ the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature to help decide whether the EHP should be implemented. In simple terms the WGBT is a measure of heat stress index and takes into account the actual temperature as well as radiation, wind and humidity, and it is this WGBT combined with the actual air temperature that decide whether the EHP is activated. Spectators who purchase tickets for Rod Laver Arena are guaranteed seeing the matches they want to even if extreme heat or rain is prevalent, with organisers able to close the roof if necessary to ensure play continues. With 15,000 people able to watch matches on the main court, nearby Vodafone Arena is also capable of holding 10,000 and the roof can also be closed there if necessary because of the conditions. Fans who purchase ground passes don't miss out either, with those tickets eligible for admission to more than half of the seats on Vodafone Arena, as well as all the seats on Margaret Court Arena and the outside courts and of course, Garden Square. There are plenty of shaded areas for fans across Melbourne Park to enjoy the tennis without the swelter.

Camille has hit a few forehand winners already since I've been watching. I have never seen her play that way. But, good for her.
