I don't find Jurgen Melzer the least bit sexy. But there's no accounting for taste.

Okay, she is down 3-5 in the 2nd now. Maybe the crowd is getting to her. I hope it's just that Amelie has stepped up her own game.

I used to be such a big Amelie fan but I got tired of her "problem". So I find myself rooting for Ana to take this last set. Allez!

Hmm I thought Ivanovic was a Bollitterrrrrri baseline bashing robot, but she has some really nice touch plays.

Note to self: Do NOT hire Yannick Noah as mental coach ...

Kiefer's playing pretty well. Kiefer's playing? I'm following My Willy ... bet the French crowd aren't making it easy on him, either, playing Mathieu.

Hmm I thought Ivanovic was a Bollitterrrrrri baseline bashing robot .... That's blasphemous! She's my favourite of all the youngsters. She's both a powerful and a surprisingly complete player for her age. Her power reminds me somewhat of Lindsay - the same clean hitting, extremely clean. And she also is a thinker [sometimes she really reminds me of Myskina the way she constructs points]. She can mix her game pretty well, has very soft hands and nice volleys which is extremely rare among current flock of up-and-commers. And finally, she has a great on-court behaviour, very calm. I really adore her. Now she plays Fran. If she wins, then plays one of the two headcases and brainless bashers: Petrova or Bovina. What a great chance! Anyways, pretty good day today overall. Marat's win was very surprising. I was so sure he was going down in straights, he looked completely disinterested in his previous match + the knee. Nice surprise to come to. Now Vamos Willy! Send French Hewitt home packing

Note to self: Do NOT hire Yannick Noah as mental coach ... LOL, but I think no-one can help Amelie to get on terms with RG. Maybe when she is 33 she'll be finally able to win it. She played a stinker in the last game, couldn't find the court with simplests of shots. Not to mention a DF on MP. You would think she was a 17 y/o in that match

I'm glad to learn that she's not just another baseline basher. And today we learned that she's one mentally tough cookie, and that's what i love in a player. But you are wrong about Bovina. She's become an all-court player and has been finishing off points at the net, even on this red clay. I hope she can take out Nadya, whose game is less interesting to me. Ana vs EB could really be interesting. But who knows, maybe Schiavone will be the one to come through after all. She's a pretty tough cookie, too.

Willy 6-3 7-6 janie, it's only quarter past 9 there in the evening. At this time of the year, darkness usually comes around 10 pm. So there could be 45 mins of play before they decide to suspend matches. More than enough for PHM to tank the 3rd set

RG web site says this about the sad finish to Amelie's match:
Crispée, Amélie lui offre la victoire sur un plateau, concédant son service blanc, sur une double-faute ...
imo, the final set really hinged on the fact that Ana served first. So when she held serve in the 4-4 game, Amelie had to hold just to stay in it, and it was all too much for her.
I think Amelie should jus give up on RG and aim for the AO and Wimbledon. She could have better chances there, and not get so crispée. Probably.
