Yes, Rogi, watch out and don't take Volandri for granted now! He's playing well and will have the crowd on his side... they could be boisterous, like calcio fans! No time for losing focus or getting frustrated or throwing racquets, ok? Now just go out there and play YOUR game! We want you in the SF! AVANTI, ROGI BELLO! [buona notte e basta!] Amen Good luck Roger!! Gooo for it!!

Looks like I was right about my bad feeling as Roger got broke in his second service game!!
Vol leads 2:1 (Roger wasted about 4 bp at the actual service game from Volandri so far!! Allleeezzz Roger you have to take your chances!! )
And he finally levels the match again at 2:2 on the 5th bp!!
Come on Roger hold now!!

Now both held serve Roger up 4:3

Roger broke Voladri again and served out the set 6:3
Then he showed the same problem he had in the second set against Jarkko as Volandri broke and took a 3:0 lead. Roger then held and broke him back and held again to level the match at 3:3
Now an other break would be nice Roger!!
Goooo for it!! Fight Roger fight!!

I can only imagine...even if Rogi is used to the whole DC crowd against him, this is not DC. Rogi shouldnt have lost the 2nd set, but the important thing is that he knew what he had to do in the 3rd and he did it. Rogi's becoming one hell of a fighter. ;D And now the real test! The new King of Clay. Should be fun. They've both had tough matches now...yeah, RF, it s be the final. The Eurosport commentary is kinda pro-Volandri. Wonder why? Even comparing him to Hewitt. Volandri is no Hewitt! (Volandri got tired in the 3rd and Hewitt never w) RF, who did they show today?

They showed Juanqui d Gaudio today!! Two good matches! I timed it and haven't watched it yet. 2 hrs today so they had to cut out a lot! They did mention Federer for tomorrow so I hope that's what we'll get overnight!! Just getting the Italian articles fr the site so have to see what they say -- I think Rogi's a bit tired... btw he and Paradorn lost their dbles so I'm relieved. He really has to focus for "El Rey de la Tierra Batida Juanqui" tomorrow! Oh pls, Rogi, win it! It will be so EXCITING!! I'm so happy that this yr's Roma is making up for last yr's in spades!! Wow! I'm checking on Felix too -- hope he wins! It's 53 for him in the 3rd!! VAMOS, FELIX!!
I have to go and make some din soon!! Doing an Indian veggie rice dish!

what Rogi said: Federer: About losing his first set this week "I don't think I should have lost the set the way I did, getting broken after leading 30-15 and had a chance to win a point to go 40-15. But he stayed in that point, and I kind of gave him a sniff there and he took it. That was unfortunate." "I think I could have won the match in two sets, but for me it was just important not to be too frustrated and just in the beginning get the early break. And this is what happened." About meeting Ferrero "I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a really tough battle. I think it's a match-up that everybody hoped for. So I'm looking forward to it, too." "What can I say. He's been playing good, I've been playing great. We both have confidence, so it should be a good match tomorrow. I'll give it my best shot. I'll try to play my game, which means mix it up and use my serve and come to the net maybe a little bit more than I did the last few matches, and hopefully I can give him a really tough match tomorrow." About Volandri's game "I saw a little bit of the match yesterday, and I saw he had a great backhand. His only weakness is the serve. I think this is no secret. He knows it himself. I think he doesn't get a lot of free points, so he has to work very hard on each point. But he's been moving very well, and he's been hitting his forehand well." "I was ready for a tough match, but maybe not as tough as it was in the end. But I'm not surprised that it went three sets because he's got his crowd behind him and he's got a will to win at home. This is normal." source: www.atptennis.comwell, at least he's looking forward to the match...be strong, Rogi!! RF and Doris, you two are so funny in the live scoring threads. You guys do a great job in cheering for Rogi.

Acc. to the Roma site people, they are predicting that the agressive technical tennis of Rogi will win out over the tactical knowledge and precise shots of Juanqui tomorrow. This much anticipated SF where anything is possible has them prognosticating that the spectacular "Rogerio" will win... will they be right??

Rogi is in the final! It's so sad that Juanqui had to retire w injury and fatigue though -- not the way to end it... damn schedule! And I was worried that Rogi might win in straights and put a damper on Juanqui's confidence, which he desperately needs to win RG. A bittersweet victory today...

Always a strange way to win. Think all the playing finally caught up w Juanqui. And the exhausting match w Gaudio. Rogi must not feel too good about getting to the final this way... I cant believe Rogi's in the final. Out of all those GREAT clay court players in the bottom half, it was Rogi to make it through. Its too wonderful. Congrats to sweet Rogi!

Well, Lily, Rogi just better win this tournament! Yevy is on a mission to win his 1st TMS and is in a zone and is favoured over Rogi in their hth. The best thing that could happen is if Felix beats Yevy altho unlikely. Poor Juanqui... wonder what Rogi says... Have to go shopping! Laters!

Felix waiting now.... ....I believe it's going to be an other really thought and hardfought match. Still I believe in you!! Allleeezzzz Roger fight for it (I'm sure you will ) Good luck and make us proud (well even prouder than we already are!! ) Hey we have to do that once. Meet up at whatever tournament and go cheer for Roger It would be a lot of fun. (Would I be able to keep my mouth shut during points ;D )

:)ILR! A quick break before I watch Felix/Yevy match -- just saw Rogi/Juanqui one... ROgi was bad and argued w the umpire about a strange double line call out right after a first weird late call that had both guys looking puzzled! They both looked tired... hope Rogi plays better vs. Felix tomorrow... Felix is on a tear and has beaten v good players this wk...Costa Ljubicic and Kafel! Pl ROGI, win it!! Then less pressure on him to defend Hamburg. Think Juanqui will have to take off several days for injury to heal. Glad you like the piccies!

ILR, still here catching up a bit before returning to watch Felix -- have to scout him out! Spanish paper said the "Swiss chocolate is very 'hot' in Roma"!! That's our Rogi, of course! Rogione!! Italians call him "Rogerio" So he has a nickname everywhere -- term of endearment cos he's such a DEAR!! Yeah, poor Juanqui... he was told to rest so he can't play Hamburg but in two wks he s be ok for RG! Hope so! They showed PL a couple of times and with Frank too! PL's hair looked nice and loose w soft blondish wavy curls!! MMGirl w love it!

If he's good enough to reach the final, he's good enough to win. Hope Rogi watched the match afterwards. The only time they played was at IW this year in the 1st rd and Felix had to retire. I read he played a v artistic game to beat Kafel so Rogi, be aware! Yes, arent we all so proud of Rogi! After last year, esp the summer, this is just so wonderful and Rogi s be proud of himself. Doris, I dont think you'd be able to keep your mouth shut. Could any of us?
