Uh-oh, here comes the trainer for Am ... Meanwhile, Patty's in trouble against (VERY) recent Hidden Worlder Knapp. Nav says no one knows who Knapp is; she "came out of nowhere" -- Nav needs to start following Hidden World action. We know who Knapp is!

Mauresmo has left the court I didn't realize that Patty likes to play 15 feet behind the baseline, ewww But lucky for her, Knapp is finally choking

Am has returned to court with leg taped. Leena's Lucie leads 63 11, but Am just broke to win her first game since 3-0.

Sharapova v Kudryavtseva was astonishingly bad. Kudryavtseva really does not deal with power very well, not particularly impressed by her.
It's been the usual story from Mauresmo - didn't take long for her to retreat into her defensive shell at all (maybe due to the injury, maybe not), Safarova began firing at 0-3 down. I love Lucie's lefty FH, love it.

I do too! But we've switched to Chak now. And I see Amelie has taken over in set 2. Patty should be so proud -- she squeaked by Knapp, wow.

omg Amelie -- she comes up with some great points here and there but then the most hideous errors. Love this Lucie; it's a real treat after watching Batty Patty playing so far beind the baseline; LS is playing well inside the court. But now Lucie's throwing in some bad stuff, too.

crap, a couple horrible DFs from Lucie. This is awful; choke vs choke, just like Am vs Nat

Well done, Lucie! She's a lot of fun to watch. Even though she chokes, she recovers quickly from that and moves on -- a lot like Justine. Amelie was lucky to get it to a tb, playing the way she was. This half of the draw is so now. Sharapova must have connections in the black magic world.

Some very nice points by Lucie in between Amelie's passivity and errors, there...
Safarova is a very good bet for the SF, I think. Chakvetadze doesn't seem wholly comfortable on the clay (losing a set to Szaya? And eight games to Sugiyama?).
Ivanovic in the final would be AWESOME.

Yay, Lucie!
Nav's pronunciation is strange. Sah-fuh-ROH-va is certainly the wrong lazy American way, but she adds all kinds of sounds.

I think she'd know how to pronounce it. Then again I also thought Monica Seles would know how to pronounce "Jelena Jankovic" and she made a horrible mess out of that name, so... Seriously though, since her name in Czech is spelled Šafářová, I think r is a weird sound that sounds like J in Justine, or something like that, and S is actually Sh.
