And of course we got to see Ana thrashing the Douche, but not Jelena's match which actually looks to be competitive. I guess Jelena is engaging in many absolutely needless baseline rallies, pushing the ball and serving 60 MPH.

And Bammer def. Dementeva is not surprising, but Bammer def. Dementieva 6-1 6-2 is, especially considering that Elena was in somewhat promising form this summer.

Jelena's shot landed right on the line, but it's called out. Jelena doesn't challenge it and loses the point. Dumb girl. She's being ridiculously defensive, I don't know what she's thinking. It might just work in this match but heavens forbid she faces Vee playing like this.

This match is sad on so many levels...
Serena is shrieking louder than Maria. And doing while hitting touch volleys.
There were three points in the last game alone where Bepa had totally open court with Silliams off balance, and launched them out by FEET.
She will now promptly drop serve.

Jelena managed to set through somehow but she'll have to play a lot better than that if she's to go beyond the QF. Alize will be really good once/if she gets a bit stronger and develop more stamina.

Bepa played out of her mind. She plays the game the way it's supposed to be played. Read Serena's shots so well, mixed CC and DTL masterfully as she usually does.
Serena's hystrionics are getting a out of hand, but the crowd seems to like it. Very entertaining match, much as it pains me to admit it.
Didn't see the Jankovic match, but I really hate it when she just plays fetch.
If Nudd-Ahl isn't as injured as he claims to be, then Fat Dave is the only one who can stop him in that 1/4. If he gets past Fit Dave, that is (H2H is horrible, but he did win the last time).

I'd say Justine's FH is still the best. As she can do about everything with it. Disagree. Henin's FH is a late addition to her game, like her current serve, so it tends to go on and off, sometimes for whole games or even sets (though we haven't seen that happen as often this season as we did last year).

Jelena's shot landed right on the line, but it's called out. Jelena doesn't challenge it and loses the point. Dumb girl. I just realized that the match wasn't played on Armstrong but on Grandstand, so she couldn't have challenged anyway. Which brings another question, have the umpires forgotten that they have the right to overrule? There were at least 3-4 times Lynn Welch could have intervened in this match while I was watching, but she didn't do it once.

Forgot to add that I didn't enjoy Djokovic vs Stepanek all that much. It wasn't that well played, those rallies they played for laughs notwithstanding, and by the fifth set you had two physically spent and mentally shot players trying their best to play some decent tennis, and occasionally achieving it.
I really hate best of five.
