A terrible day for Russian tennis! And Sharapova can't serve anymore when it matters. Her new service motion is awful and needs to be junked. Go Isner! Szavay is very impressive. I hope her back holds up so she can play her best tennis in the second week.

I hate to support The Hype as much as anybody... but Young is actually has a very nice game to watch. Hopefully he pans out. Donnster had a chance, he should have played every ball to the gaymo backhand. He has the talent nad a nice serve but his attitude still isn't the greatest he basically talked himself out of the match by imploding.

I've been keeping my eye on the Patty-Paszek score and it looks like a possibly interesting match-up. The games have been pretty close and the advantage keeps slithering back and forth. I'm expecting [and hoping] Patty's experience will come through for her. I like Tamira's game though.
