Anyway, Justine lost both games on her own serve.
But I liked the way she served it out. Tried a couple S&V points (unnoticed by Tracy Austin) & lost those, but nice serving in that game.

I don't think the sleeveless look is doing Del Potro any favors. Nor do I ever want to see Andy Murray in one of those shirts, come to think of it! So glad Tim Henman is retiring without ever trying it out.

But even if Venus was not firmly lodged in Justine's head, when she's serving & moving the way she is, who has a chance? Ivanovic was actually winning points that went beyond 3-4 strokes. Although, she almost always made an error/gave Venus a short ball to pound away, so it wasn't of much use to her, but... It's a given that Justine would return the serve better than Ana did, and if her own serve holds up, I think she has a chance. She definitely is able to hang in there with Venus in the rallies. But neither of them will make it to the semis for all we know. It's certain though, if Venus makes it to the final, nobody is going to beat her.

Del Potro is still cute. I doubt USA will continue coverage until Robredo/Gulbis finishes. Back in the ol' days, they would. Grandstand tennis until 1am would bring back memories.

Does everyone's scoreboard automatically have Fed and Sharapova selected for "My USOpen.org"? Why are they choosing for us? They put both of last year's champions in there by default, merely as examples. Same at the Wimbledon website.

Shoot rockets into the sky so we get rain, like China is doing. Then, we can move the women's SF to night.
Not the non-power SF though, with players I've never heard of. They can play at 8am.
I'm very attracted to Del Potro. Favorite list, he shall be on. Behind Kolya, of course. Too bad he sucks.

Del Potro is just awful on this surface. I watched a bit of his match against Mahut and had to turn away because Lizard Lips was sucking so bad. With his giant lips. Against Odesnik in DC JMDP returned serve from 85 feet behind the baseline and still has no second serve at all. He's made for clay but needs to drastically change things for success on hard courts. In fact, how did he beat Melzer?? That shocks me.

There's an interesting dynamic in the "power" half of the women's draw.
Jelena is afraid of Justine, and has no chance of defeating her in the SF. Justine is afraid of Venus, and has a 1% chance of defeating her in the SF. Serena vs. Venus... let's not even think about that.
Oh, women's tennis.
