I am not sure about Aga's chances although she will most likely lose. But I rate her chances to beat babygurl much higher than Kutzy's. Because Aga doesn't care that it's Williams. She's never intimidated. If she gets steamrolled, so be it.

She's never intimidated. If she gets steamrolled, so be it. The gap in firepower is just too big. Radwanska lost to BAG twice even when BAG was at her nadir in late 2006/early 2007. She was destroyed by Serena on clay. Radwanska can absorb power, wrongfoot and force the big hitters into errors - but everything has its limits.

At least I'm less likely to find the entire forum rooting against Rafa next match. Seriously. When did that start? I didn't notice The Cult starting to despise Dementieva. Now it's widespread/consensual.

Radwanska can absorb power, wrongfoot and force the big hitters into errors - but everything has its limits. Um, those losses against Ivanovic were 18 months ago. That's an eternity considering Aga's age. Surely she's a different player now, after all she doesn't have to play Hobart qualifying anymore. Aga is a player who learns, and learns fast. Which means previous results don't say much.

Serena also learns. And fast. She'll win a point. Scream. And Agnieszka will suck lose. The end.

Good to know I wasn't the only one who once found Murray attractive. Fortunately it only lasted for like 15 seconds. I know right. I didn't find him attractive so much as think he'd grow into his looks. He has lots of angles to his face! Cheekbones, and such. I like that sort of thing, and I thought he'd shed the awkwardness. But if anything he's got fuglier, and the hair...ugh. LOL, I missed all the gnashing of teeth here. Saw Wussquet wussing out when serving for the match (!), and Murray's insane winner in the TB. Lots of fun. I tend to hate on idiot fans of all nationalities, but the rabidly patriotic Australians are really the worst of the worst. When I get a ground pass to Wimbledon, I make a mental note never to go within two courts of anywhere that an Australian is playing. If I wasn't in such close proximity to them, the English fans would be among the least annoying and desperate; at least they know how to be quiet.

And yet, she's in the top 10 now. What has that got to do with her chances against Reenus? It shows that you cannot reduce Aga's to one weakness, the second serve. If that mattered all that much in her game she wouldn't have made the progress that she has. She is Top 8 for the year, and her serve has always been with her. She has beaten players that 'should' have crushed her second serve (Masha, Kutzy), but they didn't for whatever reason. Anyway, I ought to stop gushing over her, else she will suck and choke forever.

Seriously. When did that start? I didn't notice The Cult starting to despise Dementieva. Now it's widespread/consensual. I don't think anyone who used to like Dementieva now despises her! It's just that, sometimes, our love manifests itself in insults and expressions of contempt. We only call her a useless idiot because we care. But when everything's connecting, watching her play is awesome. Please let Tammy d. Venus 6-0, 6-0 on CC ensue.

I like the tip of the cap to THECOSTASLAM2 that occurred in this thread. Very classy.
I never dreamt that Tammy would put together the best two/three weeks of her career at age 31. And I have been following her for almost ten years! Whoever said she wasn't known for beating top players even in her heyday was right. Putting away a pair of top ten players in recent weeks increased her previous career total by 50%! This is totally unexpected. Granted, the stars were aligned for her to beat Jelena, but still. She never does shit like this. Much less at age 31.
Basically, I thought she was finished after 2004. I thought she was hanging out on Tour for the nice lifestyle and some decent cash. That she would ERUPT for a title and a Wimbledon QF is just mind-boggling. And it buys her at least one more year on Tour.
These days, anything is possible in women's tennis. I can actually picture Tammy beating Venus which is not something that seemed credible to me at any other time in my life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm happy for Zheng too. Vaidisova is beatable too, but ... I don't know. Zheng isn't good enough to use an SF as a springboard to better things ... Vaid is. It would be better if Vaid won, funnier if Zheng did.
I'm sad for Sveta. A tough match to lose.
I'm hopeful for Elena. But this Petrova in the quarters shit is just ridiculous.
I don't know. What a day!
