I really have no idea who's going to win Dementieva vs Jankovic...or who I'm supporting. Oh, I may as well face it, I'm supporting Demented, let's just go with the one who's caused me more pain over the years.
So...until Berlin this year, Jankovic has really owned Demented in recent years. All Jankovic's wins were blow-outs, which suggests poor play from Dementieva; and Dementieva's definitely playing well (not even the hint of a choke yet) here.
I actually think Safina has a very good shot at Silliams, if she's not too fatigued.

Reenus would be out already had Pee not given her the QF, so Safina definitely has a chance.
Since Elena Dementieva only exists to piss me off, she'll win!

I'm torn between JJ and Dementieva - this is a golden opportunity for both to win that elusive GS singles title. I'd be happiest with Jankovic winning the title, but fear she'll collapse in the final. Safina will lose in three, tough sets after having all the chances in the world. Which is what always happens when I root for someone against Silliams. Ugh. Davai Safina.

Q. You're talking about being a housewife, and ten years ago you weren't uttering those words. When you look back at what you've been able to accomplish, do you have look back and marvel at the high level you've been able to play and your record of longevity?
VENUS WILLIAMS: Yeah, I'm trying to do more. And for the record, I'm aiming for the 2016 Olympics. We'll be playing doubles. I'll be here for a long time still grinding and earning titles and making life hard for anyone and everyone.

Meanwhile, Elena still has hers from like 2000.
Why do I notice these things.
Warning: This match will probably be very horrible. It's windy, and we have two massive chokers.

When Jankovic's game is at its best, it's very intriguing to watch. She has that Hingis/Myskina mastery of angles at her disposal.

Though she is not one of the more powerful players, I think that's a gross reduction of her game. Her angles and depth are exceptional. Her wins are not ONLY because of her ability to run everything down.
